Provided are a system and method of generating a label comprising label content based on information stored by a plurality of different databases. The system includes an interface that receives an order ID. A communication system transmits the order ID over a communication network to a remotely-located terminal, and receives order data comprising information obtained from a record in a first database. A memory device that is locally connected to the interface locally stores a second database comprising rules defining requirements of a drug labeling standard. The memory device stores insufficient information to locally interpret the order ID. A label generator applies at least one of the rules using a portion of the received order data and a portion of information locally stored in the second database to control a label printer that prints the label in compliance with the drug labeling standard.

Networkable medical labeling apparatus and method

Provided is a container for transporting a consumable such as a medium on which an image is to be printed. The container includes a support surface and a reading component coupled to the support surface to read a computer-readable code accompanying the consumable. A relay interface is operatively connected to the reading component to receive a signal indicative of the computer-readable code read by the reading component, and communicate with a compatible reader provided to the receiving apparatus to convey information about the computer-readable code read by the reading component to the receiving apparatus. The relay interface can be coupled to the tray at a location remotely located from the reading component and having an orientation that is different from an orientation of the reading component.

Provided is a labeling apparatus that generates a label for labeling a drug container at a healthcare facility. The labeling apparatus includes a code reader that reads a computer-readable code encoding a drug to be stored by the drug container and transmits a signal indicative of the identity of the drug in response to reading the computer-readable code. A non-transitory computer-readable memory stores a drug formulary comprising a plurality of drug entries. A processing component is configured to identify, from the formulary, the identity of the drug corresponding to the computer-readable code and receives a patient identity from a computer-accessible source. A printer is operable to print label content identifying the specific drug onto a label that is to be applied to the drug container. The label content includes the identity of the drug and the patient identity encoded by a label code that is computer-readable.

Medical labeling apparatus with drug information

Provided is a system for identifying a drug container that includes an image capture device configured to capture an optical image of a portion of a label provided to the drug container, and a non-transitory computer storage medium storing a plurality of features for each of a plurality of different drugs included in a database. The features associated with each of the plurality of different drugs are suggestive of an identity of a drug identity but do not, alone, positively identify the drug identity. A processing component is configured to receive data representing the optical image transmitted by the image capture device and to identify a candidate for the drug identity based on the plurality of features associated with the candidate.

Provided are a system and method for presenting information related to a drug dilution. A computer memory stores a drug database with a plurality of drug entries, each of which includes an identification and concentration of a drug stored in an originating container. A reader is operable to read a barcode associated with the drug identifier of the originating drug container and the concentration and/or dose and volume of the drug in the container. A user selects or enters a desired drug preparation that may include one or more preparations of the originating drug requested for administration to a patient. A computer processor interprets the concentrate signal, identifies the concentration of the originating drug based on content included in the drug database, and determines a recipe to be presented to the user for preparing the drug including any required dilutions.

Method and apparatus for labeling a medicinal substance

Provided is a method of converting a medical image used in a network at a patient care facility, the network including an enterprise network storage solution optionally dedicated for storing medical images in a standardized medical imaging format that are to be retrieved over the network. The method includes us a computer system to search a portable computer-readable medium for an indication that the medical image is stored in a proprietary format on the portable computer-readable medium. The proprietary format of the medical image is identified, using the computer system, based on the indication. Provided is a method of stabilizing an elastomeric property of an elastomeric material. The method includes placing the elastomeric material in a pressurizing chamber and applying a suitable hydrostatic pressure to the elastomeric material within the pressurizing chamber to at least partially compress the elastomeric material. Application of the hydrostatic pressure is maintained for a period of time suitable to at least partially stabilize a restorative force exhibited by the elastomeric material in response to subsequent exposures of the elastomeric material to a compressive force.

The engine transfers images to the media in response to control signals. The controller provides the control signals to the engine based upon image data and a first non-volatile memory stores recording device system data accessible by processes executing at the controller. The second non-volatile memory stores a copy of selected portions of the recording device system data, the second non-volatile memory being detachably coupled to the hard copy recording device and capable of being coupled to a second hard copy recording device for downloading the selected portions of the recording device system data to the second hard copy recording device.

A printer capable of transferring images to different types of media is disclosed. Media sheets of different sizes and types may be dispensed through a single input path to a print station including a printhead and a platen. The printhead is adapted for transferring images to media using either a direct thermal or dye diffusion process. A capstan roller, platen roller, picker assemblies and kicker assemblies are driven by a single motor, allowing for substantial cost and space savings. Other features are directed to improving the quality of images using the direct thermal and dye diffusion processes.
