A method for using a thermoplastic elastomeric composition which contains a multi-staged emulsion polymer binder is provided. An elastomeric composition which contains a multi-staged emulsion polymer binder and a photosensitive composition and a method for using the elastomeric composition in elastomeric coatings, caulks, or sealants is also provided.

A method for decreasing the drying time of a wet coating by admixing said wet coating and at least one transient colorant in an amount effective to decrease the drying time, applying the admixture to a substrate, and drying the coating, is provided. The transient colorant may be, for example, a pH-sensitive colorant or a photobleaching colorant.

This invention relates to modified aqueous dispersions of water-insoluble latex polymer prepared by swelling an initial water-insoluble latex polymer, prepared by emulsion polymerization, with additional ethylenically unsaturated monomer, including at least one monomer with two or more sites of ethylenic unsaturation, and subsequently polymerizing the additional monomer within the swollen latex particles.

This application discloses a composition and a method for catalyzing and crosslinking of a polyepoxy compound and an acrylic resin containing carboxylic acid groups, the catalyst being in the form of a metal chelate, particularly of manganese, zinc or chromium. The compositions, when substantially freed of volatile solvent and adjusted to a viscosity resembling that of gunnable caulking compositions, are particularly well adapted as a replacement for the metallic body solder used in automobile manufacture to fill out imperfections, welded joints and the like, when applied thereto and cured.
