A quick connect/disconnect (QCD) system includes a first component and a second component. The first component includes a first body defining a first fluid channel extending between a first end portion and a second end portion and defining a longitudinal axis, a first QCD coupling portion located at the first end portion, a first adaptor coupling portion located at the second end portion, and a first mating portion of a mating assembly operably connected to the first body. The second component includes a second body defining a second fluid channel extending between a third end portion and a fourth end portion, a first threaded coupling portion located at the third end portion, a second adaptor coupling portion between the third end portion and the fourth end portion, and a second mating portion of the mating assembly operably connected to the second body.

Quick connect/disconnect adaptor system

A seal system includes a first connector member, a second connector member, a gland structure, and a seal member. The first and second connector members include respective seal structures. The second connector member is configured for connection to the first connector member. The gland structure is defined by the first connector member and the second connector member, and is located between the first and the second seal structures. The seal member is at least partially positioned in the gland structure. The first and second seal structures are configured to deform the seal member into the gland structure in response to connection of the first connector member and the second connector member.

Seal surface configuration for fluid system components

Various systems, methods, and apparatuses provided herein relate to quick connect and disconnect adaptor systems. The system includes a male member having a locking collar, a pin attached to the locking collar, and a locking mechanism; a female member selectively coupled to the male member, the female member having a locking device and a body defining a groove; wherein the locking collar of the male member at least partially surrounds the body of the female member when coupled to facilitate the groove receiving the pin and the locking mechanism to engage with the locking device.

A quick connect/disconnect system includes a male connector and a female connector. The male connector includes a first body having a fixed male protrusion and a first rotating ring assembly rotatably connected to the first body. The female connector includes a first coupling channel including a mouth configured to receive the fixed male protrusion and extending from the mouth toward a seat portion, a shuttle movable within the first coupling channel and including a flange configured to form a seal with the seat portion, and an extending portion extending within the first coupling channel and a biasing member configured to bias the flange into sealing contact with the seat portion such that rotation of the first rotating ring assembly in a first direction forces the fixed male protrusion to move axially into contact with the extending portion thereby moving the shuttle to force the flange away from the seat portion.

Quick connect and quick disconnect system and method of manipulating a quick connect and quick disconnect system

A quick connect/disconnect system including a male component having a first fluid channel, a first male coupling portion, and a second male coupling portion. A first ring assembly is supported by the male body and extends about the second male coupling portion and includes a male mating feature on an internal surface of the ring assembly. A female component includes a first female coupling portion, a second female coupling portion, and a second fluid channel sized to receive the second male coupling portion. A female mating feature is configured to rotatably engage the male mating feature, such that when the second female coupling portion is coupled with the second male coupling portion and the female mating feature is mated with the male mating feature, the first fluid channel is in fluid communication with the second fluid channel.

A water sprinkler includes a base configured to rest on a surface, a barrel assembly, a primary fluid inlet, and a plurality of nozzle structures. The barrel assembly is rotatably supported by the base and defines a plurality of fluid channels, each fluid channel extending from a corresponding fluid inlet of a plurality of fluid inlets to a corresponding fluid outlet of a plurality of fluid outlets. The primary fluid inlet is supported by the base and is configured to be fluidly coupled to a selected fluid inlet by rotating the barrel assembly to a position that aligns the selected fluid inlet with the primary fluid inlet. The plurality of nozzle structures is supported by the barrel assembly. Each nozzle structure (i) is configured to sealingly engage at least one fluid outlet of the plurality of fluid outlets, and (ii) defines an outlet opening configured to emit a fluid flow.

A quick connect/disconnect system male component includes a first body and a ring assembly. The first body defines a fluid channel therethrough. The first body includes a first coupling portion at a first end portion and a second coupling portion at a second end portion. The first coupling portion is configured to couple with a fluid conduit and the second coupling portion configured to couple with a female quick connect/disconnect system component. The ring assembly is supported by the first body. The ring assembly extends about the second coupling portion and includes a first mating feature on an internal surface of the ring assembly configured to rotatably engage a second mating feature on an external surface of the female quick connect/disconnect system component.

A fluid conduit includes a flexible member having a tubular wall and a plurality of geometric segments located adjacent to the tubular wall. The geometric segments are disposed about a central axis of the conduit and spaced apart relative to each other to define a gap therebetween. The gap is sized to be closed by contact between adjacent geometric segments upon a predetermined flexure of the flexible member. A method of forming the conduit includes forming a flexible member with a tubular wall and forming a plurality of grooves about the central axis in the tubular wall. The geometric segments in one embodiment are formed from the intersections of a first plurality of helical grooves formed at a first angle relative to the central axis and a second plurality of helical grooves formed at a second angle mutually opposite from the first angle.

A coupling assembly includes a mechanical attachment to accommodate various diameter fluid passages and resists rotational forces of attaching and detaching a hose from the hose coupler. The mechanical attachment includes a shank having a shoulder defining a space with a conduit of the hose coupling assembly or with a spacer disposed in the conduit. A threaded coupler includes a projecting portion disposed adjacent to the shoulder. The threaded coupler includes a key, or a recess to mate with a key, to substantially prevent rotation of the threaded coupler with respect to the hose coupler.

A quick connect/disconnect system includes a first component and a second component. The first component includes a tube coupling portion. The second component defines a channel configured to receive the tube coupling portion. The channel opens to a first end portion of the second component. The second component further includes a first resilient seal positioned within the channel adjacent to the first end portion and sized to sealingly engage the tube coupling portion, a second resilient seal positioned within the channel and spaced apart from the first resilient seal, the second resilient seal sized to sealingly engage the tube coupling portion, and an annular expansion area located between the first resilient seal and the second resilient seal and in fluid communication with the channel.

An in line mechanical timing valve is disclosed. The valve has an inlet capable of being coupled to a water source and an outlet. A valve housing is fluidly coupled to the inlet and the outlet to control water flow between the inlet and the outlet. A bisecting cylinder is installed perpendicular to the inlet and outlet. The bisecting cylinder has a central axis and a diaphragm which has an open position allowing water flow to the outlet and a closed position preventing water flow to the outlet. A dial knob has an extended position and a retracted position. The dial knob is rotatable about the central axis of the bisecting cylinder when in the retracted position. A timing mechanism has a windup shaft parallel to the central axis of the bisecting cylinder. One end of the windup shaft has one end coupled to the dial knob which allows the timing mechanism to be set by the dial knob. A shaft parallel to the central axis of the bisecting cylinder is inserted through the timing mechanism. The shaft has a first end which is coupled to the diaphragm and an opposite second end which is coupled to the dial knob. The dial knob may be rotated to set the timing mechanism to remain in an extended position for a set period of time.
