A flame retardant composition includes a polymeric base material, a non-halogenated flame retardant material and a synergist material present in a concentration of about 1 percent by weight of the composition. The synergist is substantially free from metal oxides. The flame retardant composition achieves a flammability rating of at least V-2 when tested in accordance with UL testing conditions.

Non-halogenated flame retardant material

A unitary, structural panel of a thermoplastic material and a method of forming same are disclosed. The panel includes planiform webs that traverse the full thickness dimension of the panel and define a plurality of elongated, open channels that are substantially in axial alignment with one another. One or more layers of an expanded blank are pared to form the structural panel of the invention.
