Countertop deep fryer

A non-recirculating convection oven includes an upper housing portion defining a food heating chamber. The upper housing portion includes a removable lid, to access the food heating chamber. At least one exhaust air outlet allows air to exhaust to an exterior of the upper housing portion. A food supporting tray is positioned in the food heating chamber, with the tray including a solid food supporting portion. A lower housing portion below the upper housing portion includes an intake air inlet for intake air, and a blower assembly for heating the intake air and delivering it to the food heating chamber wherein the intake air enters the lower housing portion at the intake air inlet, and the intake air is then heated to a temperature of at least 250&deg; F. The heated air exits the food heating chamber at the at least one exhaust air outlet, wherein none of the heated air is recirculated within the oven to the blower assembly.

Convection oven

An apparatus is described for use in forming a flexible food item into a rigid bowl-shaped shell during submersive cooking which includes a support member and a basket with a base portion and a side wall portion. The apparatus further has structure for positioning the food item to be formed between the support member and the base portion of the basket during operation. The apparatus further has structure which permits folding of at least a portion of an outer periphery of the food item which extends beyond the base portion when the food item is operatively positioned between the support member and the basket. The apparatus permits folding by the oil during submersion of at least a portion of the outer periphery of the food item from a position away from the side wall portion of the basket to a position adjacent the side wall portion of the basket. A method is also described for cooking a flexible food item in a container of oil to form a rigid bowl-shaped shell by permitting the oil to fold at least a portion of an outer periphery of the food item relative to a center portion of the food item.

Shell maker apparatus

A hot air corn popper comprises a body having a lower body portion closed by a removable cover. A hollow stainless steel popping vessel is removably held in the lower body portion and has a bottom end closed by a perforated grill. A gravity flow feed hopper formed in the lower body portion provides an automatic flow of unpopped kernels into the popping vessel where they are contained on top of the grill. An upwardly directed hot air flow produced in the lower body portion is directed through the popping vessel. The air flow pops the unpopped kernels and carries the popped kernels out of the popping vessel and the body to a storage receptacle.

Hot air corn popper

The underside of the bottom wall of an electric cooker contains a sheathed electric heater element intermittently staked and keyed to the sides and base of a receiving channel to control and confine growth and resist twisting movement of the element therein during heating.
