Nonwoven abrasive articles, particularly lofty nonwoven abrasive articles, with a textured, non-planar surface and an abrasive coating thereon. The coating may cover the entire surface or only portions of the surface. The textured surface, composed of peaks or high regions and valleys or recessed regions, provides improved cut performance over nonwoven abrasive articles having a generally planar abrading surface.

Method for gasket removal

A molded abrasive brush having a backing with a plurality of bristles extending therefrom. The backing and bristles are preferably integrally molded. The brush is molded from a moldable polymer such a thermoset polymer, thermoplastic polymer, or thermoplastic elastomer. The moldable polymer includes a plurality of organic or inorganic abrasive particles interspersed throughout at least the bristles, and can be interspersed throughout the brush. The moldable brush can include an attaching means molded integrally with the backing. Also disclosed is a method of making a molded abrasive brush and a method of refining a workpiece surface with a molded abrasive brush.

A rotary brush assembly for treating a surface has a circular disk having a generally fiat first side and a second side. A plurality of elongated fibers are individually attached to the first side of the disk and positioned generally parallel to one another and perpendicular to the first side of the disk. The unattached ends of the fibers collectively define a generally planar treatment surface adjacent and generally parallel to the first side of the disk. The fibers are positioned such that the fibers form areas of filled space on the treatment surface, the areas of filled space separated by areas without fibers.
