A wound care device for delivering topical oxygen therapy, negative pressure wound therapy, and a low intensity vacuum therapy for treatment of a wound. The wound care device may include an oxygen supply MEA, an oxygen consuming MEA, a vacuum pump and motor, a pressure sensor, and a power supply and electronic controls. A dressing may be connected to the wound care device for administering topical continuous oxygen therapy and simultaneous negative pressure wound therapy to a wound. A canister or exudate trap may be positioned between the dressing and the vacuum supply port of the vacuum pump to collect and store exudates from the wound. The canister may be combined with the dressing.

The wound care device may include an oxygen supply membrane electrode device (MEA), a vacuum pump and motor, a pressure sensor, and a power supply and electronic controls. A dressing may be connected to the wound care device for administering topical continuous oxygen therapy and negative pressure wound therapy to a wound. The wound care device may be operated to provide simultaneous topical oxygen therapy and negative pressure wound therapy, continuous oxygen therapy with intermittent negative pressure wound therapy, and alternating oxygen therapy and negative pressure wound therapy.

A device for transporting waste gases and liquid exudates from a wound. The device may include a multi lumen tubing and a connector for securing the multi lumen tubing to a fitting. The multi lumen tubing may include a double wall containment structure with a first lumen and a second lumen. The connector may include a body with a first cavity on one side, a second cavity on another side, and an interior wall located between the first cavity and the second cavity. The interior wall may form a projection in the second cavity. The projection may include an outer surface and a ledge adjacent the outer surface. The projection may cooperate with the multi lumen tubing to form a liquid-gas separator. The ledge may include a bore extending between the first cavity and the second cavity. The bore may house a gas permeable and a liquid impermeable barrier.

A device for delivering oxygen to a wound or injury includes a bandage, which includes a base defining an opening, a cover, and a locking mechanism for releasably securing the cover to the base. An oxygen source is in fluid communication with the cover, whereby oxygen is delivered to the opening in the base.

Oxygen-producing bandage with releasable oxygen source

A portable, self-contained device is described for the topical application of oxygen and the removal of wound exudates to promote the healing of skin wounds. The device includes a wound dressing that incorporates at least one electrochemical cell for generating oxygen. The device can regulate the supply of oxygen to the wound at various concentrations, pressures and dosages and is used to produce a high concentration of oxygen at the wound site. By reversing the polarity of the power source a reduced pressure can be created in a reservoir attached to our device. The reduced pressure in the reservoir draws naturally flowing exudates away from the wound. Alternately, two reverse polarity cells are used to alternately supply oxygen and draw away exudates.
