A dockside cargo-handling platform lift apparatus is provided to be adjustable to desired vertical elevations through conventional scissor-action expandable support framework driven by hydraulic actuation power, and is improved to further include a pivotably mounted top deck platform surface which is adjustable to desired angular elevations through a pivotable support framework driven by hydraulic actuation power to move against a free end portion of the platform surface.

Bi-elevational platform lift

A collapsible electric foot-toe guard is employed with a loading platform having electric controlled lift and descent movements, functioning as a safety device in the protection against unwitting protrusion of human limbs into the path of descent of the platform lift, said collapsible foot-toe guard being comprised of an outwardly depended contact plate moveably engaging a base support plate through hinge means to permit said contact plate with contact thereof to fold toward the base support plate, such folding movement effective to break a normally open, held closed electric limit switch circuit to arrest descent of the platform lift.

Collapsible safety guard for platform lift

A platform positioned in a swimming pool has a slave hydraulic ram at each corner which raise and lower the platform. Each ram has a barrel attached to the platform and a piston rod which is supported on the bottom of the pool. There is a hydraulic motor for each slave ram. The hydraulic fluid in this system is water. Each hydraulic motor comprises a cylinder with a piston therein. Each time that the pistons of the motor cylinders are retracted make-up water flows into the system from a tank. The pistons of the motor cylinders are actuated in unison by a single main cylinder. The main cylinder is operated by hydraulic fluid from a hydraulic pump through a control valve.
