A syringe includes a body for receiving a medicament and a plunger movably connected to the syringe body. The plunger is moved with respect to the syringe body to draw in and dispense the medicament. A plurality of dose setting indicators are disposed on the plunger. The plunger is rotated outwardly from the syringe body to draw medicament into the syringe body. The plunger can be pushed or rotated into the syringe body to dispense the medicament.

A medication delivery pen is provided having a reusable pen body assembly and a disposable cartridge assembly that are threadedly engageable with one another. The disposable cartridge assembly includes a plunger and can releasably receive a needle cannula assembly. A portion of the pen body assembly projects into the cartridge holder assembly for driving the cartridge plunger distances that are selected in accordance with a desired dose of medication to be delivered. The cartridge holder assembly can be disassembled from the pen body assembly after the medication therein has been exhausted, and the used cartridge holder assembly may be discarded and replaced.

When a user requires an injection the cap is removed from the pen and a dose is set by turning a dose setting knob to the desired dose as displayed in a window in the pen. After the desired dose is set using the dose setting knob, injection is achieved by pushing an actuator button. After injection the user replaces the cap on the pen such that indicia on the cap align with indicia on the body of the pen to display the day and time of day of the last injection, thereby providing the user with means for remembering when the last injection was administered by aligning indicia on the cap with indicia on the pen body assembly, without having to otherwise write or record the day and time of the last injection.

A medication delivery pen is provided having a pen body assembly and a cartridge assembly that are threadedly engageable with one another. The pen body assembly includes a rotatable driver for driving a cartridge plunger preselected distances that are in accordance with a desired dose of medication to be delivered. In addition, since the adapter mounts on the clip of the pen's cap during storage, the portable and discrete usage design approach is not compromised.

A device and method for filling a conventional disposable plastic syringe with a mixture of insulins. The mixing device includes a pair of disposable cartridge assemblies each containing a different type of medication to be mixed in the syringe and a pair of medication dispensing mechanisms for dispensing the medication out of a respective cartridge. Each dispensing mechanism permits one to specify the dose of medication to be dispensed and drives a plunger into its respective cartridge a specific distance based on the specified dose.
