The invention is directed to a synthetic flashing material, to a method of preparing the synthetic flashing material, and to a method for using the synthetic flashing material, and to the use as insulating material. The synthetic flashing material comprises an amount of polymer material of 75 wt. % or more, wherein the content of metals in the synthetic flashing material is 10 wt. % or less.

Synthetic flashing material

The invention is directed to a construction material, to a method for preparing a construction material, and to the use of a construction material. The construction material of the invention comprises a perforated sheet of metal and on at least one side of the perforated sheet of metal a thermoplastic layer comprising poly(vinyl butyrate), wherein said thermoplastic layer has i) a modulus of elasticity as measured according to ISO 527 of 0.6-2.0 MPa, preferably in the range of 0.8-1.8 MPa, ii) a shore A hardness as measured according to ISO 7619-1 in the range of 25-65, preferably in the range of 35-50, and iii) an elongation at break as measured according to ISO 527 of 250-400%, preferably 275-375%.

Construction material

The present invention relates to a method for hydrophobization of a fabric surface comprising providing a stream of a substantially anhydrous gas, passing said gas over or through a substantially anhydrous liquid of an alkylsilane, preferably a fluorinated alkylsilane to provide an alkylsilane, preferably a fluorinated alkylsilane vapor and bringing said vapor in contact with the fabric surface, thereby allowing the optionally fluorinated alkylsilane to bind covalently to the fabric surfaced. The present invention further relates to a fabric comprising a superhydrophobic surface finish prepared by a method of the invention and to a device for carrying out the method of the invention.
