A disconnect assembly for operationally attaching a hose or other fluid conduit to a fluid inlet and selectively decoupling the hose or conduit from the fluid inlet. In a first locked position, a fluid pressure seal is formed permitting pressurized flow of fluids through the disconnect assembly. In a second unlocked position, the hose or other fluid conduit can be quickly, safely and efficiently decoupled from the disconnect assembly such as, for example, during an emergency or unforeseen crisis. Following such decoupling, fluid is automatically contained and prevented from discharging into a surrounding environment.

Method and apparatus for disconnection of hoses and other conduits

A safety handle for use with conventional pipe tongs. The safety handle has a hand grip, as well as upper and lower flange members. The flange members beneficially define a recess for receiving (and protecting) a user's thumb. At least one attachment cavity is provided for receiving, and securely attaching the safety handle to, a tong jaw member.

An adjustable anchor post assembly for use with a personnel fall arrest or protection system. A pneumatically adjustable anchor post assembly for use in providing an elevated attachment point for a personnel fall protection lifeline, such as, for example, when personnel are climbing and/or working on equipment on skids or large equipment. More particularly, a pneumatically adjustable lifeline anchor post assembly, wherein a column post of the present invention can be pneumatically raised or lowered, and selectively locked in a desired position.

A mud containment apparatus has pneumatically energized seals for sealing against the outer surface of tubulars such as drill pipe. The mud containment apparatus can be quickly and efficiently positioned about a threaded connection existing between adjacent pipe sections. During separation of the threaded connection, the mud containment apparatus contains and saves drilling fluid, thereby preventing drilling fluid from uncontrolled splashing or spilling.

A clamp assembly provides an attachment point for securely gripping pipe or other tubular goods including, without limitation, a section of coiled tubing. The clamp assembly beneficially includes a pad-eye member for attaching the clamp assembly (and any attached tubing) to a hook of a crane or other lifting mechanism. The clamp assembly also prevents partially unspooled coiled tubing from re-winding through a winding guide of a spool, thereby maintaining a distal outer end of the coiled tubing in an easily accessible location.

An elevator assembly such as, for example, a single joint elevator apparatus having a removable load supporting insert member for gripping the outer surface of a pipe section. The load supporting insert member has at least two different shoulder profiles; the load supporting insert member can be quickly and easily removed, inverted and re-installed to accommodate and facilitate gripping of pipe sections having different outer configurations (including, without limitation, outer configurations associated with threaded connection members).

A capture block assembly prevents unauthorized removal, swapping, interchanging or replacement of shackle members used with conventional wire rope sling assemblies. A first half member is permanently joined with a second half member within a thimble member of a sling loop, after a wire rope sling has been manufactured or assembled, to prevent removal of a shackle from such loop. No welding or other operations permanently affecting strength properties of the thimble or sling member is required.

Load test apparatus for shipping containers comprising a horizontal beam (), the beam having pivotal plate assemblies () attached to lifting eyes () or other feature of a container by cables () or similar means, extending from the pivotal plates to the lifting eyes. The pivotal plates rotate about a horizontal pin () permitting the pivotal plates to become axially aligned with the cables. The Horizontal beam is forced vertically upward by a plurality of force generating means such as hydraulic cylinders (). The force of the force generating means is applied through a point common to the longitudinal axis of the horizontal beam and the axis of the horizontal pin, thereby eliminating moment loads within components of the assembly. The opposite vertically downward reaction force is applied to the bottom of the container and simulates the force applied by the weight of the typical contents of the container when it is in use.

Safety handle for pipe tong

Manual pipe tong comprising secondary latch. The pipe tong comprises a handle and a plurality of linked jaw segments pivotally attached to the handle. Two of the segments are first and second latch segments, and are releasably engageable to form a primary latch. The primary latch may be released and the jaw segments opened to encircle a tubular for makeup of a threaded connection. The first latch segment comprises substantially parallel upper and lower surfaces, and projections on each of those surfaces. A hooking member on the second latch segment comprises a pair of spaced-apart hooks joined by a handle, and is rotably disposed on the second latch segment so that the hooks sandwich the second latch segment. The hooking member is rotatable between first and second positions, and in the second position the hooks engage the projections on the first latch segment so as to form a secondary safety latch. In the event of a tong jaw segment failure, the secondary safety latch keeps the jaw segment fragments linked to the unbroken jaw segments, preventing projectiles from being formed by the fragments. The secondary safety latch also prevents unintentional unlatching of the primary latch.
