An apparatus, system and method are provided for controlling a bulge radius of a pressure member in a belt-roll fuser. The belt-roll fuser has a first pressure member. The belt-roll fuser also has a fuser belt having a portion that faces a surface of the first pressure member at a region defining a fusing nip. The belt-roll fuser further has a second pressure member that faces another portion of the fuser belt at the fusing nip such that the fuser belt is entrained between the first pressure member and the second pressure member. The belt-roll fuser additionally has a deformation member configured to deform the first pressure member.

Apparatus, method and system for controlling bulge radius of a pressure member

A self-positioning belt roll fuser stripping apparatus and system includes an internal pressure roll entraining a fuser belt. The internal pressure engages an external pressure roll to form a fusing nip. The internal pressure roll includes an internal pressure roll bearing to which a mounting plate is attached, allowing the mounting plate to move about a rotational axis of the internal pressure roll. A strip bar is attached to the mounting plate, and configured to force the fuser belt toward the external pressure roll. A mounting plate ski is configured to contact an external pressure roll bearing to limit movement of the mounting plate, positioning the strip shoe as desired when the mounting plate is moved to guide the strip show toward the fusing nip.

Self-positioning stripper bar apparatus and systems for belt roll fuser systems

A belt-roll fuser system includes a belt-roll fuser apparatus wherein a belt is entrained about at least a first internal pressure roll and a second internal pressure roll. The first internal pressure roll and the second internal pressure roll are configured to force a belt against an external pressure roll at a fusing nip, the belt conforming to the external pressure roll across substantially a length of the fusing nip. A passive belt support may interpose internal pressure rolls for ensuring a consistent fusing pressure across the length of the nip. A pressure belt may interpose the fuser belt and the internal pressure rolls.

A method and apparatus for automatically adjusting nip width based on a scanned nip print in an image production device is disclosed. The method may include automatically inserting a sheet of media into a fuser nip in the image production device upon receiving a signal from a user interface, the fuser nip being an intersection of the fuser roll and the pressure roll, generating a nip print in the fuser nip, the nip print being an image created from the pressure between the fuser roll and the pressure roll, scanning the nip print, determining if a nip width adjustment is required based on the scanned nip print, the nip width being the distance of an arc length created by an intersection of the fuser roll and the pressure roll, and if it is determined that a nip width adjustment is required based on the scanned nip print, adjusting the nip width.

Apparatuses useful for printing and methods for stripping media from surfaces in apparatuses useful for printing are disclosed. An apparatus useful for printing including a first member including a first outer surface; a second member including a second outer surface; a belt including an inner surface and an outer surface; a first nip formed by contact between the inner surface of the belt and the second outer surface and contact between the outer surface of the belt and the first outer surface; and a stripping mechanism including a stripping member disposed internal to the belt. The stripping member is positionable relative to the first nip to vary a pressure applied by the outer surface of the belt against the first outer surface downstream from the first nip. The media are stripped from the outer surface of the belt after exiting from the first nip.

Apparatuses useful for printing and methods of stripping media from surfaces in apparatuses useful for printing

Embodiments herein include an apparatus that can comprise any heating device, such as one having an outer surface adapted to contact items, such as sheets of print media, and a rotatable air outlet (vent, jet, blower, etc.) positioned next to the heating device. The air outlet can be, in one embodiment, part of a tube-shaped air pleneum. In some embodiments, the air outlet can comprise a slit, perforations, rows of jets, etc. and the air outlet can have a length at least as long as the width as the fuser. The rotatable air outlet can be positioned to blow air to remove the items from the heating device and can rotate from a first position to a different second position.

A safe tiltable sheet feeding apparatus including a tiltable sheet support tray having a lead edge and a trail edge, for supporting a stack of sheets to be fed lead edge first from the stack. The tiltable sheet feeding apparatus also includes a feed head adjacent the sheet support tray for feeding a top sheet of the stack from the stack and an elevator assembly for independently raising, lowering and tilting the trail edge of the sheet support tray. The elevator assembly includes elevator drive motors, a controller, side frames defining lead edge elevator slots, and trail edge elevator slots. Importantly, the tiltable sheet feeding apparatus includes an overtilt safety sensor device mounted within the trail edge elevator slots and connected to the controller, for sensing overtilt of the trail edge of the sheet support tray, and for preventing resulting damage to the tiltable sheet feeding apparatus.

A sheet stacking tray system for stacking different sizes of copy sheets on a stack supporting tray to be fed upstream to a reproduction apparatus for printing, on which tray the stack is registered against a side registration edge. An upstanding stack rear edge guide is track mounted for movement at an angle to that side registration edge to provide a large repositioning movement in the upstream direction together with automatic lateral movement toward or away from that side registration edge, so as to engage the rear edge of a stack of larger sheets further from the registration edge, more centrally of the downstream edge of those sheets, and to engage smaller sheets closer to the registration edge and thus more towards their centers. Two independent upstanding stack side edge guides may be repositionable towards the registration edge independently of, and not overlapping, any position of the angulary moving rear edge guide. The rear edge guide may be linearly track mounted at approximately 18 degrees to the registration edge. All three stack edge guides may extend through and move along separate elongated apertures in the tray. The downstream edge guide may be repositionable substantially closer to the registration edge than the upstream side edge guide due to the angular track of the rear side guide.

Sheet stacking tray with stacking guides system for a wide range of sheet sizes

A dual path sheet feeder is disclosed including a bypass transport loop and a main transport loop for selectively delivering sheets from a sheet feeding module to either a printer processing module or to a finishing module, wherein a movable gate situated adjacent to the bypass transport loop is provided for directing sheets along a predetermined path of travel. The movable gate is selectively positionable between a first position for directing the sheets through the main transport loop to the processing module to produce copy sheets prior to delivering the copy sheets to the finishing module and a second position for directing the sheets through the bypass transport loop to deliver insert sheets directly to the finishing module, circumventing the processing module. The dual path sheet feeder is contemplated for use in conjunction with a high speed electrostatographic printing machine for providing flexible paper supply options without the additional burden of providing supplemental dedicated sheet feeding trays.
