A set of stators of a linear induction motor are mounted on a track. A three-phase current is provided to each of the stators, such that a traveling magnetic field (TMF) is created by the stators along the length of the track. The traveling magnetic field includes a magnetic flux corresponding to a stator excitation modulated with a message signal. A rotor includes a series of conductor plates. As the traveling magnetic field passes through the conductor plates, a current is induced in the plates by induction. Such current then generates an opposing magnetic field causing the plates and the vehicle to be propelled. Each phase may first be modulated with a message signal, before being provided to the stator. The current at the rotor is then demodulated to realize the message signal. A doppler shift due to the speed of the rotor relative to the stator is corrected.

In various embodiments, the method includes deploying a plurality of autonomous buoys under or on the surface of the body of water; and scattering the plurality of autonomous buoys to form a mesh communication network.

Method and apparatus for autonomous buoy-based situational awareness for flying boats

A traffic control system is described that comprises a transceiver configured to receive a first signal comprising location data indicating a location of an unmanned vehicle (UV). The traffic control system further comprises a processor configured to determine a location of a second vehicle and determine a course of the second vehicle. The processor is further configured to cause, based on determining the location of the second vehicle and the course of the second vehicle, the transceiver to transmit a second signal to the UV directing the UV to avoid the course of the second vehicle.

Unmanned vehicle proximity warning system

An augmented personnel locator system (APLS) may include a plurality of identifier nodes and a plurality of intermediate nodes. The plurality of intermediate nodes may be configured in a mesh topology. Each intermediate node may be configured to receive position and status information from at least one identifier node of the plurality of identifier nodes and may be further configured to retransmit the position and status information to a receiver node, either directly or indirectly (e.g., via at least one other intermediate node). The APLS may further include a wireless gateway onboard a vehicle and communicatively coupled to the receiver node. The APLS may further include a vehicle display system configured to receive the position and status information from the receiver node via the wireless gateway and further configured to generate map symbology based on the position and status information for a vehicle display.

Augmented personnel locator system

An aircraft cargo handling system with augmented weight sensing capability is disclosed. In embodiments, the aircraft cargo handling system includes a loadmaster control station including a controller with a user interface communicatively coupled to the controller. The user interface is configured to receive user-input weight data for one or more cargo units. The aircraft cargo handling system further includes one or more sensors configured to detect weight data for the cargo units or one or more carriers for the cargo units. The sensors may be coupled to respective transmitters that are configured to transmit the detected weight data to a data gateway device that is communicatively coupled to the controller. The controller is configured to compare the user-input weight data to the detected weight data and generate an alert when the difference between the user-input weight data and the detected weight data is greater than a threshold weight difference.
