An assembly for connecting a tube having a tube connector and a flow restricting orifice. The flow restricting orifice includes a tubular nozzle having an insert portion for insertion into a mouth of the tube connector and a visible marking having a marking element which extends radially outwardly from the tubular nozzle and which includes a frangible connection which is connected to the tubular nozzle and which has at least one predetermined breaking point. The frangible connection is configured to release the marking element when the frangible connection is broken before the tube is completely pushed onto the tube connector. The marking element is configured to be retained on the tube connector or on a tube connected to the tube connector to remain, wherein the flow restricting orifice is fitted in a mouth of the tube connector.

A method for making a preformed thermoplastic tube having a tube wall and including at least one bend formed by thermoforming, characterized in that on an inner curve of the bend the tube wall is provided with a pattern of corrugations with minimal dimensions in terms of number of and heights of corrugations such that a wall length reduction resulting from the corrugations along the inner curve is kept at a minimal value necessary to absorb overlength on the inner curve resulting from forming the bend, and in that on an outer curve of the bend the tube wall is smooth and free of corrugations.

A crimp coupling includes a crimping ferrule for connecting a hose to a fitting. The fitting includes an outwardly projecting stop collar and a groove which extends circumferentially around the fitting at a constant axial distance to the stop collar. The crimping ferrule, which can be slid onto the fitting, includes a flange, a tapering hinge section, and a cylindrical section. A distance between the stop collar and the groove of the fitting is dimensioned such that the flange, when abutting the stop collar, has a lower edge facing away from the stop collar above the groove. Due to a diameter reduction of the cylindrical section and the tapering hinge section, during crimping, the flange is pivoted such that the lower edge of the flange is turned into the groove by the pivotal movement of the flange.

A connector fitting for a fluid hose in a vehicle comprises a first end connectable to the hose, a second end connectable to parts of a fluid system and a cylindrical middle portion positioned between the first end and the second end. The middle portion comprises a shoulder extending in circumferential direction of the middle portion and is adapted to contact a first surface of a fixing plate when inner walls of a through-going recess of the fixing plate circumferentially surround the middle portion of the connector fitting. The connector fitting further comprises at least one snap-in tongue with a nib. The nib is adapted to engage a second surface of the fixing plate positioned parallel to the first surface such that the fixing plate is fixed in the longitudinal direction of the middle portion between shoulder and the nib.

A quick connector coupling comprises a collar port having a passage and a collar, a connector to be coupled to the collar port and comprising a tube portion to be received in the passage, a flange on the tube portion, a sealing ring received in a groove on the tube portion, and a locking clip for engaging the collar and an engagement surface of the connector to lock the connector against axial movement. With the connector in a mounted state, the flange has extensions extending along the tube portion beyond the collar, the extensions carry a terminal ring with a surface facing the flange forming the engagement surface spaced from the collar, the clip arranged to lock the connector on the collar port against axial movement, and the groove is axially formed on the tube portion such that the groove is closer to the flange than the engagement surface.

A flame resistant hose assembly is disclosed. The hose assembly comprises a tubular inner layer and a flame resistant layer. The tubular inner layer has an interior radial surface and an exterior radial surface and defines a longitudinal axis. The flame resistant layer is disposed about and covers the exterior radial surface of the tubular inner layer. The flame resistant layer is formed from a flame resistant material comprising a polymeric binder and expandable graphite in an amount of from about 5 to about 40 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the flame resistant material. The flame resistant layer expands when heated to a temperature of about 220&#xb0; C. or greater and maintains a post-expansion coverage of the exterior radial surface of the tubular inner layer of greater than about 95%.

Hydraulic actuating device comprising a first and a second hydraulic actuator, which actuators have a first and a second connection for the supply and discharge of hydraulic fluid, which connections are in communication with a first and a second chamber, respectively, by way of a first and a second opening, respectively, in the cylinder space. The first opening of the second hydraulic actuator is in communication with the first opening of the first hydraulic actuator. The second opening of the second hydraulic actuator is in communication with the second opening of the first hydraulic actuator via a third connection. The third connection is in communication with the cylinder space in the first hydraulic actuator via a third opening. Damping means are achieved by a restriction of the outflow of hydraulic fluid via the second opening before the piston/piston rod assembly reaches the second end position.

The invention relates to a hydraulic actuating device for a movable component of a vehicle, in particular a closure element for closing an opening in a vehicle body, such as for example a movable roof, such as a folding roof or a retractable hard top. The hydraulic actuating device according to the invention has hydraulic actuating means for driving a first control valve assembly, which hydraulic actuating means comprise at least one hydraulic control connection which is in communication with a second connection of a hydraulic actuator, and which hydraulic actuating means are designed to ensure that, when a first hydraulic pressure is present at the second connection, which first hydraulic pressure is the consequence of a connection being formed between the second connection and a pressure port of a pump, a first connection of the actuator is connected to a reservoir, and that when a second hydraulic pressure is present at the second connection, which second hydraulic pressure is the consequence of a connection being formed between the second connection and the reservoir, the first connection is connected to the pressure port of the pump.

A hydraulic actuating device for a convertible top assembly of a motor vehicle. The actuating device comprises a hydraulic pump with an associated electric pump motor and one or more hydraulic actuators, each for driving an associated movable part of the convertible top assembly. The actuating device also comprises a control circuit for effecting a defined sequence of movements of the one or more actuators and feedback means, which are connected to the control unit, for feeding information relating to the sequence of movements of an actuator back to the control unit. The feedback means comprise means for measuring the electric power consumed by the pump motor, which means transmit a feedback signal to the control unit.

Hydraulic actuating device for a convertible top assembly of a vehicle

A hydraulic actuating device for moving a retractable hard-top of a convertible car. The actuating device comprises a double-acting hydraulic actuator, the first connection of the actuator being in communication with an associated throttling assembly which is designed to provide either an optionally controllable throttling or a clear passage opening, which is larger than the throttling opening, as a function of a switching parameter. The throttling assembly has a pressure-detection means for detecting the hydraulic pressure in the second working chamber, which pressure-detection means has associated with it a predetermined switching pressure. The throttling assembly is designed such that&#x2014;when pressurized hydraulic fluid is supplied to the second working chamber&#x2014;the clear passage opening is active if the detected pressure in the second working chamber is above the switching pressure and that the throttling is active if the detected second working chamber hydraulic pressure is below the switching pressure.

Hydraulic actuating device for a closure assembly

A hydraulic control device having a hydraulic actuator with a cylinder space, in which a piston is accommodated. In the cylinder space the piston bounds a first chamber and second chamber. The housing is provided with a first and a second connection for the supply and discharge of hydraulic fluid, in communication with the first and the second chamber by way of a first and a second opening. The damping means are achieved by the fact that the piston is provided with shut-off means, which are designed to shut off the second opening of the cylinder space before the piston/piston rod assembly reaches an end position. The hydraulic actuator is further provided with a third connection, which by way of a third opening is in communication with the second chamber in any position of the piston. The hydraulic control device further comprises a throttling facility.

Hydraulic control device

A hydraulic actuating unit for integration into a preassembled folding roof unit of a motor vehicle is adapted for mounting as a single unit in a motor vehicle with the hydraulic actuating unit integrated therein. The preassembled folding roof unit has a folding roof with a foldable cover and a framework for the cover. A main bow is pivoted by a hydraulic main bow actuator and a rear bow is pivoted by a hydraulic rear bow actuator, each actuator being of the double-acting type. The hydraulic actuating unit also has an actuable two-position control valve, which control valve has an outlet port, an inlet port and a reservoir port, the outlet port being connected to a working chamber of the main bow actuator and/or a working chamber of the rear bow actuator. The control valve, in a first position, connects the associated outlet port to the reservoir port and, in a second position, connects the associated outlet port to the inlet port of the control valve. The hydraulic actuating unit also has two hydraulic connection ports to connect the actuating unit, which is integrated in the pre-assembled folding roof unit, to a hydraulic pump/reservoir unit, which is mounted away from the actuating unit. A valve element with a non-return valve action opening towards the relevant connection port is provided in the connection between the reservoir ports and the connection ports.
