A method and an apparatus for characterizing a fluid provide for flowing a sample fluid through a microfluidic flow line and subsequently flushing the flowline with flushing fluid alone or together with heating and/or exposure to a pulsating electromagnetic field. A tracer fluid is injected and tracked in a microfluidic line based on known properties of the tracer fluid.

Devices and methods for measuring analyte concentration

An electrochemical fluid sensor for a downhole production tool positionable in a wellbore penetrating a subterranean is provided. The wellbore has a downhole fluid therein. The electrochemical fluid sensor includes a sensor housing positionable in the downhole tool, a sensing solution positionable in the housing (the sensing solution including a mediator reactive to target chemicals), a gas permeable membrane to fluidly isolate the downhole fluid from the sensing solution (the gas permeable membrane permitting the passage of gas to the sensing solution), and a plurality of electrodes positioned about the housing a distance from the gas permeable membrane to measure reaction by the sensing solution whereby downhole parameters may be determined.

Downhole electrochemical fluid sensor and method of using same

Disclosed herein are devices and methods for the detection, quantification and/or monitoring of analytes. The systems and methods can be used, for example, to rapidly monitor gases downhole in a well.

A treatment fluid and system are disclosed for cleaning borehole filtercake using the treatment fluid, wherein the filtercake contains reservoir drilling fluid (RDF) solids. The treatment fluid comprises a fluoride source providing a 1.2 to 5 molar fluoride concentration, and another acid or combination of acids to provide a pH between 1.8 and 5. The treatment fluid is balanced for a dissolving power high enough to have significant dissolution of the filtercake, but low enough for even propagation to avoid premature leak-off.

A composition is disclosed comprising: a carrier fluid, a surfactant, a fluorine source and an organic stabilizer able to minimize precipitation of fluorine The associated method to remove the filter cake is also described.
