An abradable coating for a turbomachine, as well as a turbomachine module and a turbomachine including such an abradable coating, the abradable coating including, with a content of greater than 50% by volume, an inorganic compound whose Mohs hardness is less than 6 and whose melting temperature is greater than 900° C.

Abradable coating

The invention relates to an abradable coating for a turbomachine, comprising a mineral compound having a Mohs hardness of 6 or less and a melting temperature of more than 450° C. or even 800° C., and a polymeric compound with a content of between 40% and 70% by volume.

The present invention relates to a method for continuously manufacturing an abradable sealing element, this element comprising a support substrate covered by a coating comprising at least two successive layers, each comprising a sublayer of abradable material and a sublayer of erosion-control material. This method is noteworthy in that it comprises the steps consisting in: —a) placing at least one support substrate on a rotary carousel around which are placed at least two thermal spray torches enabling the sublayer of abradable material and that of erosion-control material to be deposited, —b) rotating the carousel so as to bring said support substrate successively opposite one then the other of the two torches and to carry out the deposition of the various sublayers and to repeat this operation so as to obtain said sealing element.

A method of preparing a substrate to receive a metal coating deposited by thermal spraying, the method including the following steps: a) depositing a layer of adhesive on the zone to be coated, the layer having a uniform thickness greater than 10 &#x3bc;m and less than 100 &#x3bc;m; b) before the adhesive dries, cold spraying a metal powder onto the zone to be coated, so that powder particles become embedded at least in part in the layer of adhesive; and c) drying the adhesive in which the powder particles remain held captive, thereby forming an undercoat suitable for receiving a metal coating deposited by thermal spraying. A device for testing a coating for a turbomachine rotor disk blade root, including two test piece halves, each including a bearing surface coated with the coating, one counter test piece including two bearing surfaces, and a machine including a first holding system for the counter test piece and a second holding system for holding the test piece halves around the counter test piece. With a tensile mechanism, the holding systems are subjected to predetermined tensile cycles along the tensile axis, during which the tensile force is transmitted from one holding system to the other via the respective bearing surfaces contacting the counter test piece and the test piece halves. The second holding system includes a resilient return mechanism allowing for the two test piece halves to open up in a direction perpendicular to the tensile direction.

A method for testing a coating for blade roots, includes: providing a disk test piece including at least one bearing surface and a blade test piece including at least one bearing surface coated with the coating to be tested, the blade test piece including two test piece halves adapted to be engaged on either side of the disk test piece, and subjecting the blade test piece engaged with the disk test piece to tensile cycles during which the test pieces undergo tensile stress with respect to each other in a tensile direction, the tensile strain being transmitted via the bearing surfaces contacting the blade test piece and the disk test piece. The method allows for very faithful reproduction of the behavior and ageing of the coating and thus allows for accurate evaluation of the quality of the coatings.
