Systems and methods for preparing a bone for a surgical procedure are provided. In general, the described techniques use a surgical guide device including a cannula having first and second parallel elongate channels adjacent to one another, and first and second elongate sleeves configured to be removably and replaceably received in the first and second channels, respectively. The first sleeve has a plurality of openings formed therein, each being in communication with a respective wire-receiving lumen extending through the first sleeve. Each of the openings defines a different offset distance between the wire-receiving lumen in communication with that opening and a wire-receiving lumen extending through the second sleeve. The surgical device can be manipulated so as to define positions of first and second openings in a bone, such as a glenoid or other bone, to receive bone screws or other elements for attaching a bone graft to the bone.

Methods and systems for preparing bone for a surgical procedure

A collar arranged to couple to a prosthetic component for implantation at the end of a long bone, the prosthetic component having a distal portion arranged to couple to the bone and a proximal neck portion arranged to couple to an articulation component. The collar comprises a plate including a neck hole to receive a neck portion, such that the collar can rotate about the neck portion. The collar further comprises a plurality of attachment portions for coupling the plate to bone fragments or soft tissues. The collar is lockable to the neck portion to prevent further rotation. A prosthesis comprising a combination of a collar, a prosthetic component and an articulation component, and a surgical method of using the collar are also disclosed.

Rotatable collar for a prosthesis

The invention relates to a modular humeral prosthesis for an inverse shoulder prosthesis, comprising an anatomical shaft () and a separable epiphyseal head () which may be angularly orientated by rotation about the longitudinal axis (XX) of the anatomical shaft. The anatomical shaft and the epiphyseal head comprise complementary angular indexing means () for relative rotational fixation.

Modular humeral prosthesis for an inverted shoulder prosthesis

An instrument for locating the cutting plane on the head of a long bone in a surgical procedure, wherein the head of the bone is replaced with a joint prosthesis component, includes an axial reference shaft which can be arranged parallel to the axis of the bone and a cutting guide which can be moved relative to the axial reference shaft. The cutting guide has a reference block for location against the bone relative to the edge of the bone at one side and at least one arm which is shaped so that it can extend from the cutting guide over the face of the head. The arm can be located positively with respect to features on the head so that the location of the reference block along the axis of the bone can be set with reference to features on the head of the bone which are contacted by means of the arm.

Instrument for use in a joint replacement procedure

A trial implant component for use in a surgical procedure for replacement of a joint between a long bone and another bone, comprises a metaphyseal part which can be located so that it extends into a cavity at the resected face of the long bone in contact with the internal wall of the cavity in the metaphyseal region, and a disk which has an essentially flat shape and which can be fitted to the metaphyseal part to provide a gauge as to the appropriate size of a head part which is to be selected according to the location of the axis of the bone relative to the edge of the resected bone.
