A device for determining the angular position of a rotor of a rotary electric machine on the basis of signals delivered by a plurality of position sensors. The device includes a circuit that applies a control loop to estimate the position of the rotor, and that delivers as output a signal representative of the position of the rotor. Also included is at least one circuit for performing dynamic processing of an odd-order harmonic of a signal resulting from the signals delivered by the position sensors.

Device for determining the angular position of a rotor of a rotary electric machine on the basis of signals delivered by a plurality of position sensors, including a circuit producing a control loop for estimating position of the rotor, delivering at output a signal representative of the position, and a circuit for dynamic normalization by the amplitude of the first harmonic of each signal originating from a position sensor. The circuit receives as input each signal originating from a position sensor, and at least one image of the signal representative of the position of the rotor and is configured to demodulate each signal by the image of the signal, determine, at the end of this demodulation, amplitude of the first harmonic of this signal originating from a position sensor, and normalize each signal by dividing it by the amplitude of the first harmonic of the previously determined signal.

Proportional integral regulating loop for digital regulator device for motor vehicle excitation rotary electrical machine

The excitation circuit according to the invention controls an excitation current (lexc) in an excitation winding () of an alternator by means of an on-board network voltage control loop (Vbat+,) of the vehicle, and comprises a first MOS power transistor () which is connected between a first positive supply terminal Vbat+ (), and a first excitation terminal (), and is controlled by the control loop by means of a first control circuit (), a second MOS power transistor (), which is connected between the first excitation terminal and a second excitation terminal () which is connected to a ground terminal () and acts as a free wheel diode, whilst being controlled by means of a second control circuit (). According to the invention, the circuit additionally comprises a control loop () of a drain-source voltage (Vds) of the second transistor.

Excitation circuit of a motor vehicle alternator, voltage regulator, and alternator which incorporates it

A method is disclosed to produce a supply voltage (B+) in an on-board system of a vehicle in response to an excitation current (I_ROTOR) applied to a rotor of the alternator. The method is of the type that consists in: limiting the resisting torque by determining a maximum cyclic ratio (DC_C_LIMIT) of the excitation current as a function of variables taken from a group containing a rotational speed (V_ROTOR) of the rotor, a temperature of the rotor, the excitation current and the supply voltage (B+). The maximum cyclic ratio is determined as a function of at least two of the variables in the group. According to one specific embodiment, the variables are rotational speed and temperature. According to another embodiment, the variables are rotational speed and excitation current.

Method for controlling the resisting torque of a motor vehicle alternator, and system for implementing this method

The rotary electrical machine is capable of functioning as a generator and outputs a continuous output voltage (Ub+) that is adjustable by an excitation current. The digital regulator () of the machine comprises an excitation current control means () and a control loop () that includes a device () for measurement, by sampling, of the output voltage (Ub+), the measurement device generating a signal sampled at a predetermined first sampling frequency (F). The machine has a bandwidth that is limited by a predetermined first cutoff frequency (F). The measurement device includes an apparatus for oversampling such that the first sampling frequency (F) is greater than twice the first cutoff frequency (F), and the control loop also includes an apparatus () for decimating the sampled signal.

Rotary electrical machine with excitation provided with a digital regulator device

Disclosed is a method and device for diagnosis of functioning faults caused by the angular position measurement sensors of the rotor of a polyphase rotary electrical machine comprising a stator, in particular of the alternator-starter type. The diagnosis is obtained by carrying out direct measurements of pairs of sine and cosine signals determined on the basis of linear combinations of the polyphase signals provided by these sensors. This measurement therefore does not make it necessary to know the exact value of the speed of the machine. The diagnosis of functioning faults caused by the angular position measurement sensors requires only the execution of elementary logic operations, i.e. the determination of the 'true' or 'false' logic states of two inequality equations.
