A system for remote visualization of medical images is disclosed. The system comprises an imaging device for acquiring image data of an anatomy of a subject, and a display communicably coupled to the imaging device. The system also includes a mobile device communicating with the imaging device and the display over a dedicated communication channel, wherein the mobile device comprises one or more applications, wherein an application of the one or more applications is configured to receive the image data from one or more of the imaging device and the display, perform tomographic image reconstruction using the image data to generate a tomographic image and present the tomographic image to the user.

A hybrid tracking system utilizing at least one combined light emitting diode (LED) and magnetoresistance sensor. The hybrid tracking system includes optical tracking technology and electromagnetic (EM) tracking technology with at least one combined LED and magnetoresistance reference sensor attached to a fixed object, at least one combined LED and magnetoresistance sensor attached to an object being tracked, and a processor coupled to the at least one combined LED and magnetoresistance reference sensor and the at least one combined LED and magnetoresistance sensor for processing signals from the at least one combined LED and magnetoresistance reference sensor and the at least one combined LED and magnetoresistance sensor. The combined LED and magnetoresistance sensor includes at least one magnetoresistance sensor and at least one LED that are integrated into a single package.

Certain embodiments of the present invention provide systems and methods for virtual implant review. Certain embodiments provide a method for virtual implant review. The method includes registering a two-dimensional image and a three-dimensional image. The method includes detecting an implant or instrument in the two-dimensional image. The method also includes performing an initial implant registration of the implant or instrument with respect to the three dimensional image based on navigation information and refining the initial implant registration based on image data analysis to generate a refined implant registration. Additionally, the method includes displaying a representation of the implant or instrument with respect to the three-dimensional image based on the refined image registration and the refined implant registration.
