This invention relates to a wiper blade () having a connecting part () which is mounted on a carrying element () of the wiper blade () and has a pivot pin () of a joint () whose free end is connected to a wiper rod (). It is proposed that the joint () includes a cap () which covers the connecting part () and is attached to it, and during operation the wiper blade () and the wiper rod () are secured in the installed position.

A window wiping device has a wiper arm which has a first crank and a second crank, a mounting part which is mountable by the first crank and the second crank in two points, the mounting part having at least a first plate and a second plate arranged substantially parallel to one another, at least one of the cranks being mounted rotatably between the plates.

In a windshield wiper arm with a first component arm ( ), a second component arm ( ) and a hinge which joins the first and the second component arm to one another with a folding capacity so that the two component arms can be swivelled relative to one another out of an initial position into a pivoted-up position, the pivoted-up position will be precisely defined. For this purpose it is provided that the first component arm is provided with at least one catch ( ) and the second component arm is provided with at least one projection ( ) which are arranged such that they can make contact with one another in order to prevent swivelling of the two component arms beyond the pivoted-up position.

The driving mechanism for a wiper of a motor vehicle includes a reversible drive shaft, a two part crank whose one part is secured to the drive shaft and whose other part is linked to the wiper to oscillate the same when the drive shaft rotates in one direction. To displace the wiper into rest position outside its wiping field when the wiping operation is switched off, there is provided a control plate rotatable about the drive shaft and supporting a swing lever provided with a lock pawl. The drive shaft passes through a cylindrical support fixed to the frame of the motor vehicle and being provided on its jacket with an indentation for receiving the lock pawl. The control plate and the first crank part are provided respectively with guiding cams cooperating with cam followers provided on the swing lever and on the second crank part to bring the lock pawl into engagement with the indentation when the drive shaft reverses its direction and to displace a crank pin formed on the second crank part radially outwardly with respect to its orbiting circular path when the drive shaft rotates in the one direction for normal wiping operation.
