A dual clock interface for an integrated circuit is described. An integrated circuit includes interface circuitry. The interface circuitry has a hardwired logic block. The hardwired logic block has a clock divider circuit coupled to receive a user clock signal and a core clock signal for dividing the core clock signal responsive to a frequency of the user clock signal to provide a divided clock signal with edges aligned to the core clock signal. The divided clock signal has the frequency of the user clock signal and a phase relationship of the user clock signal. User-side logic is coupled to receive the divided clock signal for the controlled passing of information responsive to the divided clock signal. Core-side logic is coupled to receive the core clock signal for the controlled passing of information responsive to the core clock signal.

Dual clock interface for an integrated circuit

Lane configuration of an interface device of an integrated circuit is described. A core is used to tile a portion of an integrated circuit with a first version of the core and a second version of the core. The core is an application specific circuit version of an interface device. The first version and the second version in combination have a sharable interface. Each of the first version and the second version has N lanes. The first version is a primary version and the second version is a secondary version responsive to a shared interface mode. The N lanes of the second version are combined with the N lanes of the first version via the sharable interface for providing 2-by-N lanes of input/output to the first version.

Interface device lane configuration

A configurable interface for an integrated circuit is described. The integrated circuit includes a first core, where the first core is an application specific circuit version of a Peripheral Component Interconnect Express ('PCIe') interface device. First configuration memory cells are associated with the first core, and the first configuration memory cells are for configuring the first core. The first configuration memory cells are programmable responsive to a first portion of a configuration bitstream, and the configuration bitstream is capable of including user-logic information for programming programmable logic of the integrated circuit.

Configurable interface

A hard macro-to-user logic interface of an integrated circuit is described. The integrated circuit includes a core as an application specific circuit block with a transaction interface of a first bit width and includes programmable logic capable of being programmed to instantiate user logic. The user logic has a user interface of a second bit width substantially less than the first bit width. A wrapper circuit couples the user interface and the transaction interface for coupling the core to the user logic.

Hard macro-to-user logic interface

A processor is connected to a configurable system interconnect (CSI) bus. A CSL is connected to the CSI bus. The CSL comprises a first set of signal lines to send a data transfer request and a second set of signal lines to receive a grant associated with the data transfer request. A bus master unit (BMU) is coupled with the CSL through the first set of signal lines and the second set of signal lines. The BMU is connected to the CSI bus. The BMU arbitrates to take control of the CSI bus on behalf of the CSL enabling the CSL to perform data transfer to or from the CSI bus bypassing the processor.

Method for bus mastering for devices resident in configurable system logic

An existing field of a descriptor is used to store metadata associated with a block of data to be transferred. The metadata is sent to a device using a special command when transferring the block of data from a memory to the device. The metadata is sent to the device using an existing bus. The metadata is sent to the device from the field of the descriptor. The metadata may carry packet boundary information, transmit status information, or receive status information.
