A system for generating variable frequency tube waves includes a high pressure multiplex pump having a number of plungers, with each plunger operatively coupled to a suction valve on a suction side and a discharge valve on a discharge side. The suction valve or the discharge valve of a first one of the plungers includes an opening, such that the modified plunger on a discharge stroke pushes fluid through the opening in the suction or discharge valve. The system includes a tubular fluidly coupling the high pressure multiplex pump to a wellbore, and a pressure sensor that receives tube waves generated by the high pressure multiplex pump and reflected from the wellbore.

Frequency sweeping tubewave sources for liquid filled boreholes

A system and methodology facilitates the handling of oilfield materials in a space efficient manner. The oilfield materials are delivered without blowers to at least one modular silo. Each modular silo comprises an outer housing defining an enclosed interior. A vertical conveyor is positioned within the enclosed interior and is used to lift the oilfield material from a silo inlet to an upper portion of the modular silo without utilizing airflow to carry the oilfield materials. Once the oilfield materials are disposed within the upright modular silo, the outflow of oilfield materials through a silo outlet may be controlled so as to selectively release the desired amount of material into a blender or other suitable equipment.

System and method for delivery of oilfield materials

A system is disclosed. The system is provided with an oilfield material reservoir, a fluid nozzle, and a fluid supplier. The oilfield material reservoir is provided with an opening for receiving an oilfield material and an orifice for discharging the oilfield material. The fluid nozzle is positioned adjacent to the orifice to direct a fluid flow through the orifice, and the fluid supplier is connected to the fluid nozzle.

Oilfield material metering gate obstruction removal system

A system and methodology facilitates the handling of oilfield material. The oilfield material is stored in at least one silo which enables use of gravity to feed the oilfield material to a blender or other suitable equipment. Each modular silo is transportable and may be engaged with a support structure via a pivot connection. Once engaged, the silo is pivoted to a raised, upright position on the support structure. The oilfield material is then moved to an interior of the silo, and gravity may be used to feed the oilfield material to a blender or other equipment in a controlled manner.

An integrated pump assembly for both delivering mud and cement slurry to a borehole during a well completion operation. The pump assembly includes separate mud and cement pumps for maintaining isolation between mud and cement slurry during different stages of the operation. However, in order to obviate the need for a dedicated cement pump prime mover, the cement pump may be driven by the mud pump itself or a prime mover coupled to the mud pump. In the case of coupling the cement pump to the mud pump a hydraulic line may be employed such that hydraulically compatible mud and cement pumps may be more remotely positioned relative to one another if so required based on equipment blueprints for a given well completion facility to be located at a production site.

Integrated pump assembly for well completion

An oilfield material reservoir is disclosed. The oilfield material reservoir has a body, the body having an upper end, a lower end, a sidewall extending between the upper and lower ends, the sidewall defining a recess within the body, an opening defined by the upper end, and a first orifice defined by the lower end. The oilfield material reservoir is also provided with a metering gate connected to the body at the lower end. The metering gate has a base having a second orifice aligned with the first orifice, and a knife gate connected to the base. The second orifice has a substantially trapezoidal shape. The knife gate is configured to slidably cover the second orifice. A method is also disclosed for controlling a discharge rate of oilfield material within the oilfield material reservoir by adjusting a metering open area of the second orifice according to mathematical modeling equations.

Proppant mixing and metering system

A method and system for providing a homogenized slurry output comprises a container body defining an interior portion, a discharge for supplying the slurry from the container body to a downstream source and at least one inlet in fluid communication with a pressurized supply of slurry for introducing the slurry into the interior portion of the container body in a circulation pattern that creates a homogenized mixture of slurry in the interior portion of the body.

An apparatus for installing cement plugs into a well, comprising a protective sleeve having one end adapted to be attached to the end of a drill pipe and arranged to carry a cementing plug around its outer surface such that a dart passing through the drill pipe can pass through the sleeve and engage only on formations on the plug to withdraw it from the end of the sleeve.

Apparatus and methods for deploying cementing plugs

A system for powering wellsite surface equipment comprises at least one prime mover in communication with a fuel source for powering the prime mover and having at least one heat source, at least one pump arranged to be driven by the prime mover, the at least one pump in fluid communication with at least one wellbore and at least one fluid for use in the wellbore, and at least one auxiliary system in communication with the heat source from the at least one prime mover.

Wellsite surface equipment systems

A technique facilitates the pumping of fluids in a well related application while minimizing the number of system components. The system and methodology comprise a plurality of pumps for use at a well site to deliver a well treatment fluid to a desired location. A single driveline is coupled between the plurality of pumps and a motive unit without incorporating a splitter box. The driveline is driven by the motive unit to rotate the plurality of pumps.

Pump assembly

A technique facilitates well servicing operations by utilizing a hopper system to introduce a dry additive into a mixing tank. The hopper system comprises a feeder and a hopper that delivers the dry additive into the feeder. The feeder, in turn, enables introduction of the dry additive into the cement mixing tank in a controlled manner. When the hopper system is used on a transportable cementing unit, the hopper system may be mounted on a cement mixing tank and also may incorporate a hopper that is both expandable to accommodate a greater amount of dry additive and contractible to facilitate transport.

System and method for facilitating well servicing operations

A centrifugal pump for abrasive fluid. The pump may include a bearing housing mounted to a tank containing an abrasive fluid. The bearing housing may house wear-susceptible components in a manner distancing and isolating the components from the fluid. A shaft may be coupled to the bearing housing and disposed through the tank to an impeller for dispensing the abrasive fluid beyond the centrifugal pump. Additionally the impeller itself may be housed within an impeller housing that is mechanically coupled to the bearing housing in order to enhance dimensional stability therebetween. Such a centrifugal pump may be coupled to other pumps such as higher pressure positive displacement pumps. In these circumstances the centrifugal pump may be used to facilitate the mixing of the abrasive fluid and provide a degree of pressurization thereto in advance of the fluid's use at an operation site. For example, where the fluid is a cement slurry, a triplex pump may be coupled to such a centrifugal pump for use in a cementing application at an oilfield.

A method for continuously batch mixing a homogenized cement slurry is provided that includes providing first and second mix tubs which each perform a process which include: receiving a measured quantity of solid and liquid constituents of a cement mixture; mixing the solid and liquid constituents of the cement mixture into a homogenized cement slurry; and delivering the homogenized cement slurry into a well. In this method, the first and second mix tubs alternate these delivering processes in a synchronized manner such that one of the first and the second mix tubs continually delivering its corresponding homogenized cement slurry to a well pumping system.
