A cable as may be used in a tire, including a pneumatic tire. The cable is constructed in a manner that can provide a desired stiffness to a tire as well as a certain amount of structural elongation. The cable can be provided in a manner that does not necessarily result in an increase in the overall weight of the tire as would occur by e.g., increasing the diameter of a conventional cable construction.

A steel wire has a microstructure that is completely ferritic, a mixture of ferrite and cementite or a mixture of ferrite and pearlite and has a weight content of carbon C such that C&#x3c;0.05% and a weight content of chromium Cr such that Cr&#x3c;12%. A bead wire for a tire includes a core, an outer layer, and at least one intermediate layer. The core includes at least one yarn of a multifilament textile fiber embedded in an organic matrix. The outer layer includes an outer-layer metal wire wound around the core. Each intermediate layer includes an intermediate-layer metal wire wound around the core. Each intermediate layer is disposed between the core and the outer layer.

An airplane tire comprises a crown reinforced by a working reinforcement (), comprising at least one layer of working reinforcement () made up of axially juxtaposed substantially circumferential strips () made up of mutually parallel textile reinforcing elements () coated with a polymer coating material (). Each strip is in contact, over at least its radially inner axial face, with a heat transfer element () comprising at least one heat-conducting material with thermal conductivity at least equal to 50 times the thermal conductivity of the polymer coating material. The product of the thickness of a heat transfer element by the tension modulus of a heat transfer element is at most equal to 0.3 times the product of the thickness of the strip by the tension modulus of the strip.
