A control device includes an upper actuator panel, a lower support frame relative to which the upper panel is mounted to be mobile vertically, an electric switch the body of which is carried by the upper panel, and a set of two arms for actuating the electric switch. Each arm of the set includes a distal section that bears against a portion of the upper panel, a proximal section that bears on the actuator of the electric switch, and an intermediate section that bears against a portion of the lower frame and about which each actuator arm is mounted to pivot. The actuator arms cooperate with the upper panel and the lower frame to maintain the upper panel horizontal during its movement relative to the lower support frame.

An electric switch of the normally open type includes a body, an actuator moveable between a high rest position and a low active contact position, and first second elastically deformable contact blades supported by the body. A first contact section of the first contact blade extends above a second contact section of the second contact blade. The contact sections are superposed and distanced from each other when the actuator is in high rest position, and they are in mutual electrical contact when the actuator is in low position to establish an electrical switching path. The first contact section includes a longitudinal rib that protrude downwards with respect to the plane of the underside of the first section and which is able to cooperate with the transversal contact edge of the central opening. The transversal contact edge comprises a transverse contact bend for cooperating with convexity of the longitudinal rib.

Electric switch of the normally open type

An electric switch of the normally open type includes a body made of insulating material, an actuator that is moveable between a high rest position and a low active contact position, a first elastically deformable contact blade supported by the body, and a second elastically deformable contact blade supported by the body. A first contact section of the first contact blade extends above a second contact section of the second contact blade. The first and second contact sections are superposed and are vertically distanced from each other when the actuator is in high rest position, and are in mutual electrical contact when the actuator is in low position so as to establish an electrical switching path.

A casing (), in which a plurality of conductive tracks are fixed, an operation element () which is arranged so as to be able to move in translation in the casing (), a conductive dome-like member () which is arranged in the casing () and which is resiliently deformable under the action of the displacement of the operation element () between a first state and a second state of commutation, a light source () and at least two power supply tracks for the light source (). The light source () is fixedly joined to the operation element (), the operation element being provided with at least two contact elements () which connect, over the entire axial travel of the operation element () in the casing (), the light source () to the respective power supply tracks.

Switch device provided with a light source

A switching device which includes a lighting source () having an SMC (surface mounted component) type light emitting diode, which includes a pair of connection members () with base portions () each soldered or otherwise joined to a plate () of the SMC diode. The connection members have right angle bends () and pin portions () extending down from the bends. The lighting source lies within a switch mechanism () and within an operating member (), with the pin portions projecting through channel portions () of an insulative casing into holes in energizing conductors ().

Switching device with integrated light source

A switching device includes a vertically moveable operating member () with a cavity () in which a light () lies. The light is supported on tongues () of a pair of sheet metal energizing members (A,B). Each energizing member has laterally opposite sides that form a pair of legs (). The legs extend downward along opposite sides of the switch casing (), and the legs have lugs () at their lower ends for soldering to traces on a circuit board.

A compact smart card connector that can hold and connect to two smart cards (Cs, Ci) includes a base plate () that holds base contacts () and a cover plate () that holds cover contacts () and that is pivotally connected to the base plate. An intermediate plate device () holds first and second smart cards (Cs, Ci) respectively against its upper and lower surfaces () with contact pads (Ps) of the cards facing away from the plate. The intermediate plate lies between the base and cover, so when the cover is pushed down, this pushes the cards against the base and cover contacts. The intermediate plate device has coupling plates () with slots that allow the intermediate plate device to slide to lock the cover in its lowered position.

Electrical connector for the simultaneous connection of two superposed smart cards

An electrical switch mounted on a circuit board and providing tactile feedback includes a domed tripper ( ) and an elastomeric actuator ( ) with a rod having an upper operating end ( ) that can be depressed to snap down the tripper and close the switch. The actuator has a lower sealing lip ( ) extending in a 360&deg; circle around the tripper and lying against the circuit board upper face, to form a sealed cavity ( ) containing the tripper. The 360&deg; sealing lip of the actuator is pressed down against the circuit board by a cap ( ) that has a side wall ( ) with a lower edge ( ) pressing down against the sealing lip. The cap has feet ( ) extending down through holes in the circuit board, the feet having latches ( ) that hold the cap in place.

Sealed board-mounted electrical switch

A miniature electrical switch is closed when a pusher ( ) is pushed forwardly (F) to snap down a snap dome tripping member( ) and push a contact blade ( ) against a contact part ( ). Forward sliding of the actuator is converted into downward movement of the snap dome, by a rigid lever ( ) of generally T shape, with a rear branch ( ) having laterally spaced trunnions ( ) for pivoting and a center section ( ) with a cam follower upper surface ( ). A ramp ( ) at the front of the push member depresses the cam follower as the actuator slides forward. The trunnions are of largely rectangular cross section and pivot on an edge ( ).

Push actuated electrical switch

A rotary switch includes a housing (14) with a pair of fixed select terminals (44a, 44b) and a fixed common terminal (44c). A rotor (28) that can pivot about an axis (A1), carries a connector (48) with a contact pad (60) for engaging one of the select contacts at a time and a common contact (58) for engaging the common terminal on the housing. The common terminal on the housing is in the form of a track extending in an arc centered on the rotor axis to enable the common contact to remain in continuous engagement with the common terminal as the rotor turns. The common contact on the rotor forms a pair of tabs (62) that slideably engage opposite sides of the track. The connector on the rotor can shift radially to the axis, and is biased by a spring (64) to urge the contact pad toward a select terminal. A cam arrangement shifts the contact pad radially away from a select terminal as the rotor begins to turn from a center position, to minimize the duration of electric arcs. The housing has an inner face (68) extending in an arc between the pair of select terminals, with the inner face having a plurality of axially-extending grooves (69), to minimize the duration of electric arcs. A plurality of switches can lie in a stack, with each rotor having one end forming a drive protuberance (76) of non-circular cross section, and an opposite end forming a recess (78) for receiving the protuberance of an adjacent switch of the stack.

Modular electrical switch

A miniature electrical switch, of the type that includes a snap dome or tripping member (36) lying over a pair of contacts (30, 34), includes a small and effective actuator arrangement (41). The actuator arrangement includes a sheet metal force transfer member (43) with a horizontal plate (46) and with a deflectable strip or lever (48), and an actuator device or pusher (44) with a ramp (96) that can engage the lever to deflect it. Horizontal forward (F) movement of the pusher deflects the front of the lever downwardly, to depress the middle portion (40) of the tripping member.
