A computer-implemented method and system includes accessing neurophysiological and neurovascular data recorded during sleep. A device mounted on a subject's head during sleep can gather neurovascular data by measuring transcranial impedance. The device can be in the form of a single band, multiple bands, or a headcap that are worn on the subject's head. Electrodes located along an inner surface of the wearable device contact the subject's head and measure transcranial impedance. Transcranial impedance measurements are gathered from multiple locations on the subject's head and over multiple frequencies to obtain a more complete assessment of glymphatic flow.

Non-invasive topographic localization of glymphatic flow

A computer-implemented method and system includes a head-mounted wearable device with two current electrodes that provide input alternating currents over a range of frequencies to a subject during at least one intervention. The head-mounted wearable device includes at least two sense electrodes that collect voltage difference measurements in response to the input alternating currents. A measurement validation module applies a Hilbert transform or a Kramer-Kronig test to the voltage difference measurements to generate validated time-series impedance spectra. A cranial fluid dynamics module fits the validated time-series impedance spectra to an electrical circuit model to determine a glymphatic flow response to the at least one intervention.

Wearable device and method for non-invasive assessment of glymphatic flow

A computer-implemented method and system includes accessing neurophysiological and neurovascular data recorded during sleep. A function mapping is executed from said neurophysiological and neurovascular data to a target that is one of a glymphatic flow marker, a molecular analysis marker of neurodegeneration, or a neuroimaging marker of neurodegeneration. A target prediction model is output based on the function mapping. The target prediction model can receive new neurophysiological and neurovascular data and output a predicted marker of neurodegeneration.

Non-invasive assessment of glymphatic flow and neurodegeneration from a wearable device

Certain aspects of the disclosure are directed to determining cardiac physiological parameters. Specific embodiments concern an arrangement of apparatuses including a platform region configured and arranged with an area for the user to stand, a plurality of force sensors including sensor circuitry, and a processor circuitry. The force sensors provide a plurality of analog signals while the user is standing on the platform region. The processor circuitry is configured and arranged to determine cardiac physiological parameters of the user corresponding to a graphical representation of cardiac movements, by processing the analog signals, mitigating at least some effect on the analog signals attributable to postural sway of the user, and generating data indicative of the physiological parameters based on said processing of the analog signals and the mitigating of at least some of the effect on the analog signals attributable to postural sway of the user.

Determining physiological parameters using movement detection

Aspects of the present disclosure are directed toward devices, apparatus, and methods for interfacing a PPG apparatus with the skin surface of a patient and sensing artifacts due to surface motion attributable to contact-based surface motion at or near where the apparatus in contact with the skin surface of the patient. The devices, apparatus, and methods include circuitry that contacts the skin surface of the patient, illuminates tissue at the surface, and senses a pulse photoplethysmography (PPG) signal of the patient in response thereto. Further, the circuitry senses artifacts due to surface motion, and responds to the sensed PPG signal by processing the sensed PPG signal relative to the sensed artifacts to produce a version of the sensed PPG signal that is indicative local blood volume and composition of the patient, and filtered to suppress noise therein due to the contact-based surface motion.

Motion artifact mitigation methods and devices for pulse photoplethysmography

Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a CPU and a memory circuit that has user-corresponding data stored on the memory circuit, and a platform over which a plurality of electrodes are interleaved, and configured for engaging the user. While the plurality of electrodes is concurrently contacting a limb or other extremity of the user, measurement signals are obtained from the plurality of electrodes. Based on a plurality of impedance-measurement signals being obtained from the electrodes, signals are generated that correspond to cardiovascular timings specific to the user. In such aspects of the present disclosure, pulse characteristic signals are determined based on the plurality of impedance-measurement signals and comparisons of user-obtained data are made relative to user-data profiles stored in the memory circuit.

Device and method having automatic user-responsive and user-specific physiological-meter platform

Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a CPU and a memory circuit that has user-corresponding data stored on the memory circuit, and a platform over which a plurality of electrodes are interleaved, and configured for engaging the user. Aspects of the present disclosure are directed toward obtaining a plurality of impedance-measurement signals while a set of at least three electrodes are concurrently contacting a user. Additionally, various aspects of the present disclosure include determining a plurality of pulse characteristic signals based on the plurality of impedance-measurement signals. One of the pulse characteristic signals is extracted from one of the impedance-measurement signals and is used as a timing reference to extract and process another of the pulse characteristic signals.

In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, a user-platform apparatus, such as a bodyweight sensing scale, includes a heart/cardiogram sensor which is used to detect heart and vascular characteristics of a user, and provide a cardiogram output indicative of the detected cardiovascular characteristics. The cardiogram output can be used for various purposes, such as detecting arterial stiffness and/or aging.

Systems and methods for monitoring the circulatory system

In accordance with an example embodiment, a body-weight sensing scale includes cardio-based physiological sensing circuitry to detect heart characteristics of a user, and provide outputs indicative of the detected heart characteristics. A processor circuit is arranged with the cardio-based physiological sensing circuitry to process data to provide a noise-reduced cardiogram signal which characterizes functionality/health of the user's heart.

Weighing scale apparatuses (devices and systems) and methods are implemented using a variety of biometric-based devices and methods. According to one such implementation, a weighing scale uses a base unit to integrate a support structure, a display, and circuitry to measure and determine the physiological parameters of the user, including a user-weight metric. The support structure includes a platform region that utilizes sensor circuitry to collect physiological data from the user, which is then processed by user-targeted circuitry to determine the physiological parameters (e.g., weight and heart-related measurements) of the user. Such parameters are then associated with the user and saved to a data-access circuit, and also forwarded to a display which communicates the physiological parameters among other information to the user through the platform region; the display encompassing substantially all of the platform region, including the region(s) upon which the user would stand for weight measurements.

Multifunction scale with large-area display

Certain embodiments of the present disclosure are directed toward devices, methods and systems for controlling depolarization in cardiac cells. One such device includes one or more circuits that are configured and arranged to generate an electrical stimulus at a high frequency. The circuit is configured to provide electrical stimulus over a period of time sufficient to depolarize the cardiac cells. An electrode arrangement is configured and arranged to deliver the high frequency electrical stimulus to cardiac cells and depolarize the cardiac cells.

Control of cardiac excitability using high frequency signals

In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, a ballistocardiogram (BCG) sensor is used to detect heart and vascular characteristics of a user, and provide a BCG output indicative of the detected cardiovascular characteristics. The BCG output can be used for various purposes, such as detecting arterial aging. Secondary sensors can be used in conjunction with the BCG and can be used to determine the central arterial blood pressure, when used in conjunction with a peripheral blood pressure measurement.
