A technique facilitates both a fracturing operation and a subsequent production operation in, for example, a geothermal well system. According to an embodiment, a geothermal well completion is deployed downhole into a wellbore. The geothermal well completion comprises a tubular section deployed in a well zone and having a fracturing port and a production port. Additionally, a shiftable tool is disposed in the tubular section. The shiftable tool comprises a sleeve system which is selectively shiftable between a plurality of operational flow positions. In some embodiments, a plurality of the shiftable tools may be used along corresponding well zones to facilitate fracturing of the well zones while also ensuring the outflow of production fluid has a desired balance along the plurality of well zones.

Multiple position sleeve system for improved wellbore injection

A method, computer system, and computer program product are provided for a graphical user interface that presents a quantification of CO2 emissions in a manufacturing process. A selection of a material is received, and the selection is displayed in a graphic user interface. Amounts of material and energy consumed in a manufacturing process are calculated. A chemical composition of the material is decomposed into a set of constituent elements. A first quantity of CO2 emissions is estimated based on the amount of material consumed and a first CO2 emission factor based on a proportional composition of the set of constituent elements in the chemical composition. A second quantity of CO2 emissions is estimated based on the amount of energy consumed and a second CO2 emission factor based on an energy source used in the manufacturing process. Total CO2 emissions, based on both the first and second quantities, are then displayed in the graphic user interface.

A technique facilitates multiple actuations of a toe valve system positioned along a tubing string. According to an embodiment, the toe valve system comprises a piston sleeve slidably disposed in an outer housing which has at least one port therethrough. The toe valve system also may comprise a shifting sleeve shiftable between positions with respect to the at least one port. The piston sleeve may initially be held in a position closing off the at least one port to prevent flow between the interior and exterior of the tubing string. The piston sleeve is held in this closed position via a liquid trapped in a piston chamber which is located between the piston sleeve and the outer housing. The liquid, e.g. oil, is retained in the piston chamber by a release member, e.g. a rupture disc, until sufficient pressure is applied within the toe valve system and against the piston sleeve so as to actuate the release member and to thus allow outflow of liquid from the piston chamber.

An electronic trigger system includes a longitudinal housing including detection, electronics, and actuation sections disposed therein. The detection section includes a pressure sensor for receiving a predetermined pressure signal, and an electronic control board including at least one battery is disposed in the electronics section. The actuation section includes a prefill chamber, a setting piston disposed in the prefill chamber, an actuation device, an atmospheric chamber, and a pressure port. A predetermined amount of prefilled fluid at hydrostatic pressure is trapped between the setting piston and the actuation device in the prefill chamber. The actuation device isolates the prefilled fluid at hydrostatic pressure in the prefill chamber from the atmospheric chamber. Actuation occurs when, upon receipt of the predetermined pressure signal by the pressure sensor, the electronic control board transmits power to the actuation device, causing the prefilled fluid to flow through the actuation device and into the atmospheric chamber.

A system includes a setting tool, which includes a housing, a piston, and an inner mandrel, and a settable device. The housing includes a first section configured as a setting sleeve, an intermediate section, and a second section. The piston includes an interior power charge chamber and a piston housing including at least one passage in fluid communication with the power charge chamber that interfaces with a top face of the intermediate section of the housing. The piston is mounted within a second bore of the second section via an anti-present mechanism. The inner mandrel is received in the second bore within a bottom recess of the piston housing and extends longitudinally through bores of the intermediate and first sections. At least a portion of the system is adjustable to eliminate a gap between the setting sleeve and a top of the settable device mounted on the inner mandrel.

Additionally, the arrangement also allows for a technique of re-opening the valve for long term killing of a well in direct response to the introduction of kill fluid without requiring any added complex interventional measures.

Acoustic triggering devices for multiple fluid samplers

A wireless modem for communication in a network of wireless modems via a communication channel includes a transceiver assembly, transceiver electronics and a power supply. The transceiver electronics include transmitter electronics, receiver electronics and at least one processing unit. The transmitter electronics cause the transceiver assembly to send wireless signals into the communication channel. The receiver electronics decode signals received by the transceiver assembly. The at least one processing unit executes instructions to (1) enable the transmitter electronics to transmit an identification signal into the communication channel, (2) receive data from at least one other wireless modem via the receiver electronics indicative of a unique identifier identifying the other wireless modem, and data indicative of at least one local sensor measurement related to the depth of the other wireless modem below the surface of the Earth, and (3) determine the position and/or relative order of the other wireless modem using the data indicative of the local sensor measurement. The power supply supplies power to the transceiver assembly and the transceiver electronics.

Wireless network discovery algorithm and system

An acoustic transceiver assembly including a housing, an oscillator, and a blocking element. The housing has at least one inner wall defining a cavity. The cavity has a first end and a second end defining an axis of said acoustic transceiver assembly. The oscillator is provided in said cavity. A blocking element is positioned inside the cavity and adjacent to the oscillator. The blocking element is also adapted to release the backing mass at a second pressure.
