A magnetic resonance (MR) systemincludes at least one cable () that has at least one optic fiber component (C,E,B,B) and an optical monitoring unit () in communication with the at least one optic fiber component (C,E,B,B). The optical monitoring unit () is configured to determine temperatures at each of a plurality of positions along the at least one optic fiber component (C,E,B,B). The optical monitoring unit () is further configured to halt an operation of the MR system () in response to at least one determined temperature. In accordance with the invention, the temperature of one or more cable traps forming part of the cable can be monitored and a faulty cable trap can be detected.

A resonant trap includes a hollow cylindrical body its interior forming an axial channel. An inner conductor is provided on the hollow cylindrical body's inner wall and an outer conductor is provided on the hollow cylindrical body's outer wall. A carrier in the form of a resilient ring or an axial plate is attached to the inner wall of the axial channel and a tuning capacitor mounted to the carrier.

An overmoulded cable trap () for improved performance of an RF trap () is disclosed, wherein the RF trap () is placed on a section of an electrical cable () and fixed in position by overmoulding a thermoplastic material over both the RF trap () and the section of the electrical cable (). The overmoulded cable trap () disclosed herein provides an RF trap () that has better shock protection, increased resistance to moisture, improved smoothness, is easier to handle and clean, is cheaper, can be created in very small packages where space is limited, can be easily sized to a range of diameters and lengths, is more reliable with respect to maximum rated voltage and less electromagnetic coupling to the environment, and generates less heat, than other designs of RF traps.

Moulded cable traps

A description is given of a communication set for connection to a communication line such as a telephone line, which communication set includes means for detecting set functions such as ringing signal detection, and a rectifier circuit which is connected to a common output which is coupled to a scanning device included in the set function detection means, which scanning device detects the line conditions. A large number of line conditions may be detected with a minimum of components required, among which an analog/digital converter for which only a single input pin on a chip is necessary.

Communication set with detection of set function and line condition

Known is a wire bound telecommunications device to be coupled to telecommunication lines comprising a transmission circuit coupled between the telecommunications lines, which transmission circuit comprises a power supply circuit for forming a supply voltage from a telecommunications line voltage, whereby the power supply circuit comprises sensing means for sensing a telecommunications line current and adjustment means for adjusting the supply voltage, a supply voltage terminal being coupled to the sensing means. In the known device, no optimal matching is obtained for the load line of the power supply to a DC-mask for line voltages as a function of a line current as prescribed for a given country. A more optimal matching is proposed. Hereto, the power supply circuit comprises a controllable current source coupled to an adjustment terminal of the adjustment means and that a control input of the controllable current source is coupled to the sensing means, whereby the power supply is arranged such that the adjustment means operates as current sinking or current sourcing means, respectively, so as to cause the supply voltage to increase or decrease, respectively, in accordance with a predetermined function.
