A coating composition is provided comprising

Fluoropolymer non-stick coatings

A coating composition is provided comprising (a) an aqueous medium, (b) melt-fabricable perfluoropolymer dispersed in said aqueous medium and having a melting temperature of at least 290&#xb0; C., (c) melt-fabricable perfluoropolymer dispersed in said aqueous medium and having a melting temperature of no greater than 270&#xb0; C., and (d) water miscible organic liquid having a boiling temperature of at least 280&#xb0; C. and optionally (e) filler, the combination of (c) and (d) providing sloughing resistance to said composition applied to a non-horizontal substrate and baked, component (d) being unnecessary when component (a) is not present in the coating composition, and when filler is present the amount of (c) being present in an effective amount to increase the cohesive strength of the baked layer of the coating composition.

The present invention relates to an oil pipe having a lining imparting substantially reduced adhesion of asphaltenes, paraffin wax, and inorganic scale, so as to reduce plugging of said oil pipe, and impermeability to salt water so as to protect the oil pipe from corrosion.

The present invention relates to a vessel, in particular a pipe, especially an oil pipe, having a preformed film adhered onto the interior surface of the pipe, the interior surface of the preformed film reducing the deposition of at least one of asphaltenes, paraffin wax, and inorganic scale by at least 40% as compared to the interior surface of said oil pipe without said preformed film being present. In a preferred embodiment, the preformed film is adhered to the interior surface of the pipe with a primer layer with an optional barrier layer between the primer layer and the preformed film.

The process includes use of a heat exchange unit having at least one tube having a multi-layer coating. The multi-layer coating includes a melt flowable copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene adhered to the interior surface or exterior surface of the tube.

Disclosed is a process for reducing the deposition of asphaltenes, paraffin wax, or inorganic scale in an oil well pipe by providing a system of pipes that convey any flowable medium, such as oil and gas. The present invention relates to a pipe, especially an oil pipe, having a lining comprising a fluoropolymer adhered to its interior surface and a lining formed on its exterior surface. The interior and/or exterior lining may comprise a primer layer comprising a fluoropolymer, and preferably a perfluoropolymer and an overcoat or a preformed film adhered to the primer layer. Either the overcoat or the preformed liner also comprises a fluoropolymer, and preferably a perfluoropolymer. The surface of the lining facing the flowable media, such as oil, may be a pure perfluoropolymer to provide a particularly good non-stick surface for the oil.

Coated pipes for harsh environments

The present invention provides an abrasion resistant composition comprising fluoropolymer and an effective amount of micropulp to increase the abrasion resistance of an article such as a film formed from the composition by at least 25% as compared to film formed from the fluoropolymer by itself. In an especially preferred embodiment, the composition also contains an effective amount of pigment to further increase the abrasion resistance of film formed from the composition as compared to film formed from the fluoropolymer by itself. The invention is especially useful for films formed on a fuser roll.

The present invention relates to a tool for use in an oil pipe having a fluoropolymer coating imparting substantially reduced adhesion of asphaltenes, paraffin wax, and inorganic scale, so as to reduce plugging of said tool, and impermeability to salt water so as to protect the tool pipe from corrosion. Such a tool is particularly useful in a pipe coated in a similar manner.
