An antifoam granule includes a carrier and an antifoam compound deposited on the carrier. The antifoam granule is formed using a method that includes providing an emulsion and contacting the emulsion with a carrier to deposit the antifoam compound on the carrier and form the antifoam granule. The emulsion includes an oil phase, an aqueous phase, and a silicone polyether. The oil phase includes an antifoam compound. The antifoam compound includes a hydrophobic fluid and a hydrophobic filler dispersed in the hydrophobic fluid. The aqueous phase includes a binder and water. The emulsion is formed using a method that includes combining the oil phase, the aqueous phase, and the silicone polyether to form the emulsion. The antifoam granule is also utilized in a method of facilitating rinsing of a detergent from a substrate that includes applying the detergent, including the antifoam granule, to the substrate and rinsing the substrate.

Method of forming an antifoam granule containing a silicone polyether

A process for washing a substrate. The process involves providing a detergent composition that includes a surfactant and an antifoam. The antifoam comprises a hydrophobic fluid having a surface tension of at least 27 mN/m and less than 40 mN/m and a finely divided solid hydrophobic filler dispersed in the hydrophobic fluid. The process further involves washing the substrate in an aqueous medium with the detergent composition. The antifoam does not affect foaming during the washing step. During the washing step, the detergent composition is applied to the substrate. The process further involves rinsing the substrate with the applied detergent composition with water, whereby foaming during the rinsing step is inhibited.

A cosmetic composition comprising a cosmetically active ingredient in a cosmetically acceptable medium, wherein the cosmetic composition contains a silicone composition comprising (A) a hydrophobic organopolysiloxane fluid having a surface tension of from 15 to 40 mN/m and (B) a finely divided solid hydrophobic filler dispersed in the organopolysiloxane fluid (A).

A granulated antifoam composition comprising an antifoam, a siloxane wax binder, and a carrier. The antifoam includes a hydrophobic fluid wherein the hydrophobic fluid has a surface tension which is greater than or approximately equal to the dynamic surface tension of an aqueous dispersion of the detergent at above the critical micelle concentration of the surfactant and less than about 62 mN/m. The antifoam further includes a finely divided solid hydrophobic filler dispersed in the hydrophobic fluid.

The present invention relates to hydrophobic gypsum and to a process for making gypsum hydrophobic, in particular it relates to a powdered hydrophobing additive, a hydrophobic gypsum composition and method for preparing same using granules containing organosilicon compounds as hydrophobing additives. The invention provides a granulated additive for rendering gypsum material hydrophobic, comprising a particulate carrier on which is deposited an organosilicon component, a binder polymer and an emulsifier for the organosilicon component. Such a granulated hydrophobic additive is able to provide a high initial hydrophobicity to gypsum materials to which it is applied and that the obtained hydrophobicity can last during a long period of time.
