A system for interactively visualizing different options for tendon repair for a surgeon and for informing the surgeon in a descriptive way of the different options is disclosed. The system may be configured to determine the size of a damaged tendon and propose solutions consisting of the anchor types, number of anchors and a free tendon-to-bone healing area associated with each proposed solution. As such, the system may make a surgeon aware of solutions for which the surgeon was otherwise unaware that are superior in free tendon-to-bone healing area or number of anchors, or both. The system increases the likelihood that a patient will receive the optimum number of anchors and free tendon-to-bone healing area in a tendon repair.

Interactive tendon repair guide system

This disclosure details a surgical system and method for changing one or more dimensions of harvested tissue, such an autograft, which is harvested from one location in a patient's body and used for a surgical repair or reconstruction procedure in another location in the patient's body. An example surgical system includes a first press component defining a cavity configured to receive harvested tissue, and a second press component including a projection insertable into the cavity. Further, at least one of the first and second press components are made of a transparent or semi-transparent material such that when harvested tissue is in the cavity and when the projection is inserted into the cavity, the harvested tissue is visible through at least one of the first and second press components.

Surgical system and method for changing dimension of harvested tissue

A patient can undergo physical therapy to rehabilitate a musculoskeletal condition. The success of the rehabilitation relies in part on whether the patient uses an exercise band with the correct resistance for their condition. In order to select the correct resistance, a controller can instruct the patient to perform a directed movement with an exercise band, receive exercise data from at least one sensor (e.g., a camera, like a front-facing camera, that records the patient, a plurality of sensors on or near the patient's skin, etc.) as the subject performs the directed movement, and calculate a pull force exerted by the patient on the exercise band based on at least a portion of the exercise data. The adequacy of an exercise with the exercise band for the patient is determined based on the pull force can be determined based on the calculated pull force.

Many physical therapy practitioners have not adopted telehealth because of practical, regulatory and/or payor/reimbursement complexities. Systems and methods described herein can facilitate the adaptation of telehealth in physical therapy. A unique first virtual physical therapy session for a first patient (at a first location) using a first instance of a physical therapy system can be conducted by a practitioner (at a location) at a time in a first channel. A a unique second virtual physical therapy appointment for a second patient (at a second location) using a second instance of the physical therapy system can be conducted by the practitioner (at the location) at the time in a second channel. The practitioner monitors the first channel and the second channel during the time in order to coach, correct, and/or counsel the first patient and the second patient.

Knotless, adjustable anchor systems that allow for knotless tensioning of tissue (such as the rotator cuff) after anchor implantation. The knotless, adjustable anchor system includes knotless anchors (for example, swivel and/or screw-in suture anchors and/or push-in suture anchors) that are modified to carry a self-locking, adjustable construct (for example, a suture assembly with a spliced suture loop) and to position the self-locking, adjustable construct at the repair site. The system allows for knotless tensioning of the tissue after the knotless anchors have been implanted. The medial row anchors are implanted and passed through tissue in a similar fashion as the current Corkscrew&#xae; or SwiveLock&#xae; C anchors are. The lateral row anchors are similar to a knotless SutureTak&#xae; but modified to accommodate a larger suture to hold a larger load. The suture is interconnected to the medial row and returned back to the lateral row for loading into the splice.
