This example of the device also includes a cup forming a seat for receiving a stick of product and a driving means for moving the cup relative to the base between a stowed position of the cup in the recess and a usage position in which an applicator portion of the stick emerges at least partially from an opening of the recess. The device includes a plurality of separator/comb elements extending around at least a portion of the opening of the recess, the separator/comb elements being configured so as to engage with the fibers to separate/comb them simultaneously to, or after the application of, the product onto the fibers by the applicator portion.
