A method and equipment for forming a front toothing having a plurality of radial teeth on an annular collar of an inner ring of a wheel hub, wherein a plurality of first knives are axially and sequentially impressed on the annular collar and have a first predetermined circumferential profile (P) configured to form radial reliefs which are spaced by imprints and have a rounded circumferential profile corresponding to the profile of the ridges of the radial teeth to be obtained; thereafter, a plurality of second knives are axially and sequentially impressed on the annular collar inside the imprints and have a third predetermined circumferential profile (P) configured to reproduce in reverse at least part of respective opposite flanks of the radial teeth of the front toothing to be obtained.

Sealing device for a wheel hub unit is disclosed herein, wherein the sealing device being able, during use, to form a static seal for protecting the wheel hub unit from any environmental pollutant and being provided with a screen, which is engaged with a collar of the wheel hub unit and has a bottom wall, a cylindrical side wall integral with and more or less perpendicular to the bottom wall. The sealing device is designed and structured to protect the wheel hub unit from any environmental contaminant that the wheel hub unit may be exposed to during usage.

A sealing device for bearing units is disclosed herein. The sealing device may comprise a static component and a dynamic component. The static component is provided with a shaped metal support, with a plurality of non-contacting sealing lips, and with two contacting lips. The dynamic component defines a labyrinth seal with a second sealing lip of said non-contacting sealing lips, a third lip, preferably non-contacting, being positioned along the labyrinth seal and having a full angular extension, so as to form a full seal against any ingress of contaminants into the bearing unit.

A hub-bearing unit is provided with a hub, rotatable, with an axially outer flange portion configured for engagement with a rotatable element of a motor vehicle, a bearing unit provided with a fixed radially outer ring, configured for engagement with a fixed element of the motor vehicle, a first, axially outer, crown of rolling bodies, and a second, axially inner, crown of rolling bodies, interposed between the radially outer ring and the hub. The radially outer ring is held in position with respect to the knuckle by a stop ring, positioned on the axially inner side of the radially outer ring in a seat formed on the radially outer ring.

A hub-bearing unit is provided with: a rotatable hub, with an axially outer flange portion configured for engagement with a rotatable element of a motor vehicle, a bearing unit provided with a fixed radially outer ring, configured for engagement with a fixed element of the motor vehicle, a first, axially outer, crown of rolling bodies, and a second, axially inner, crown of rolling bodies, interposed between the radially outer ring and the hub. A procedure for mounting of a hub bearing assembly having a rotatable hub, and a bearing unit having a stationary radially outer ring, and two bodies rolling crowns disposed between the radially outer ring and the hub. The assembly process involves the following steps: a) pressing-fit a first seal on the hub, b) mounting an axially external cage and the axially outside rolling bodies, in correspondence with a track of the axially outer hub, c) the radially outer ring assembly and inclination of the same outer ring of a predetermined angle with respect to the hub, d) mounting of the axially interior rolling bodies in correspondence with a track of the axially inner hub, and the radially outer ring alignment to the hub, f) snap insertion of the axially internal cage on rolling bodies and g) the pressing-fit a second seal on its seat.

Assembly procedure of a bearing unit&#x2014;HUB flange

A method for axially preloading a bearing hub assembly having a rotatable hub, provided with rolling tracks and a bearing unit having a stationary radially outer ring, provided with rolling tracks, and a double row of rolling bodies disposed between the radially outer ring and the hub. The method requires the use of a bias unit and provides the following steps: a) feeding to an assembly station a hub bearing assembly, already assembled; b) verifying the value of the interference (C) between the radially outer ring and the bias unit; c) exerting an axial force (F) radially on the outer ring for the bias unit to deform under compression the radially outer ring that in turn will transmit a force to the rolling bodies via the raceways.

A procedure for mounting a hub bearing assembly including a rotatable hub, and a bearing unit having a stationary radially outer ring, and two rolling bodies disposed between the radially outer ring and the hub, and executing the steps of hammering a first seal on the hub, mounting a cage on the seal seat, providing the outer ring assembly in axially offset manner relative to the hub, mounting the rolling bodies axially externally from the axially inner side, combining the hub to the outer ring, positioning the outer ring inclination at a predetermined angle, mounting the rolling bodies from the axially inner side, aligning the hub to the radially outer ring, snap insertion of the cage, on rolling bodies from the axially outer side and the cage, on rolling bodies from the axially inner side, hammering a second seal on its seat, from the axially inner side.

Assembly procedure of a bearing unit&#x2014;hub flange

A hub-bearing assembly provided with a bearing unit and a rotatable rotor-hub. The bearing unit includes a stationary radially outer ring, a couple of rotatable radially inner rings, and a double row of rolling elements, wherein the rolling elements are interposed between the outer ring and the inner rings, whose centers are located along a first circle having a radius, with respect to a symmetry axis of the assembly. The rotor-hub is made of a light alloy. A tubular portion is assembled on top of the radially inner rings. The tubular portion is steadily fixed a flange portion, axially external and includes a plurality of fixing holes. Axes of the fixing holes are located along a second circle defined by a radius respective to the symmetry axis of the assembly. The radius of the first circle (rolling elements) is greater than the radius of the second circle (fixing holes).

Hub-bearing having a light alloy rotor-hub

A hub unit is provided with a hub made of an aluminum alloy for plastic processing, which forms, in a single piece, an axially extending cylindrical portion and a radial flange; two bearing rings are mounted axially aligned around the cylindrical portion, an axially inner edge of the cylindrical portion is plastically deformed in a radially outer direction against the axially inner bearing ring.
