Systems and methods for home automation and security are disclosed. Example methods disclosed herein include detecting an entrant at a first location at a first time. Disclosed example methods also include determining, according to an occupancy schedule, that a person is expected to be at the first location at the first time. Disclosed example methods further include, in response to an indication from a device at a second location different than the first location that the person is located at the second location at the first time, activating an alarm without initiating a prompt for the entrant to enter a security pass code.

Systems and methods for home automation and security are disclosed. An example method includes storing an indication that a building is expected to be occupied at a first time; controlling, via a processor, a behavior of a security system at the building at the first time based on the indication; and changing, via the processor, the behavior of the security system at the building at the first time in response to determining that a particular person is located at a location not corresponding to the building at the first time.

A home automation and security system is provided in which a home automation and security controller in a customer premises is coupled with a remotely located central control facility using a continuous connectivity access line providing a data channel separate from a voice channel. The controller at the customer premises is responsible for monitoring and applying control signals to devices in the home and for supporting a human interface. The remotely located central control facility is responsible for providing the computational and database resources to the controller. By redistributing functionality, the network-based structure of this home automation and security system can overcome the disadvantages of conventional home automation and security systems.

The system includes an AIN capable switch, a service control point (SCP) having a database of designated contact numbers associated with a service subscriber telephone number, and an intelligent peripheral (IP) in communication with the SCP for contacting the designated contact numbers. The method includes the steps of recognizing an N11 trigger and the SCP initiating telephone calls, via the IP, to each of the contact numbers corresponding to the telephone number of the subscriber making the emergency telephone call.

A system () and method () are provided permitting cookie files to be used with telephonic customer premises equipment (CPE) (). The caller CPE () can be an intelligent telephone adapted to generate, store, transmit and receive cookie files. The cookie files can include information tokens describing a caller profile. The CPE () can provide a template cookie file upon request from a called party during a conversation between the caller and called party. The template file can then be transmitted to the called party and modified. The modified cookie file can then be returned to the caller CPE () for future use during subsequent calls to the called party. The cookie file can reduce the processing time of calls placed to automated dial-up service centers and also reduces its computer resources required by the service system.
