A payment and authentication network may include a communications interface, one or more processors, and a memory. The memory may have instructions stored thereon that, when executed by the one or more processors cause the one or more processors to receive, using the communications interface, transaction information associated with a transaction from a merchant system and generate a fraud risk score based on the transaction information. The instructions may cause the one or more processors to determine that the fraud risk score is indicative that the transaction is likely fraudulent and transmit an alert to a user device that informs a user of the user device that the transaction is likely fraudulent prior to generating an approval decision for the transaction.

Fraud detection systems and methods

Systems and methods are disclosed in assessing and determining the health of social tokens associated with certain events. More specifically, but not by way of limitation, this disclosure relates to determining dynamic scores associated with social tokens for senders and receivers in those events and using those scores to assess whether to allow or reject the event. An example embodiment may include receiving data associated with a sender including a social token associated with the sender, receiving account data associated with a plurality of accounts maintained at the entities, generating a health score for the social token associated with the sender, receiving data associated with an event initiated by the sender using the P2P account associated with the sender, generating a health score for the social token associated with the receiver, determining a health score for the event, determining that the event should be approved or declined based on the health score for the event, and if declined locking the application at the network device associated with the sender.

Systems and methods for determining the health of social tokens

A system including one or more processors and one or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computing instructions configured to run on the one or more processors and perform various acts. The acts can include: (a) receiving a payment authorization, through a network, from a sender financial institution; (b) obtaining, in real-time after receiving the payment authorization, a sender status based on sender information of the payment authorization; (c) when the sender status is preauthorized, instructing, through the network and in real-time after obtaining the sender status, a recipient financial institution to bypass a transaction fraud detection mechanism; and (d) instructing, through the network, the recipient financial institution to post a payment amount of the payment authorization to a recipient account in real-time. System and method for simplifying fraud detection in real-time payment transactions from trusted accounts

A method and system for providing real-time encrypted data alerts over secure networks. The method and system detect the improper duplicate data records and generate alerts that indicate the improper duplication. The systems encrypt the data alerts and transmit them to remote devices over private, secure networks to protect sensitive data contained in the alerts.

System and method for encrypting a data alert

Real-time determination of funds availability for checks and ACH items

A method including receiving a first inquiry through a network from a first entity. The method also can include determining a routing decision in real time of whether or not to route the first inquiry to a second entity. The method further can include, if the routing decision is to not route the first inquiry to the second entity: sending a first response through the network to the first entity in real time after receiving the first inquiry; sending a second inquiry through the network to the second entity in real time after receiving the first inquiry. The second inquiry can be based at least in part on the first inquiry; receiving a second response through the network from the second entity. The second response can be sent by the second entity in real time in response to receiving the second inquiry; storing the second response received from the second entity; sending a third response through the network to the first entity in real time after receiving the second response. A method including providing a payment application to a sender from an application service provider. The method also can include receiving a payment authorization from the sender through the payment application. The payment authorization can be made by the sender at a payment authorization time. The method additionally can include sending a first debit message from the application service provider to debit a first account maintained by a first financial institution based on the payment authorization. The method further can include receiving a first debit response at the application service provider in real-time after the payment authorization time. The method additionally can include generating a first promise-to-pay message for a second financial institution to credit a second account maintained by the second financial institution to make funds available in the second account in real-time after the payment authorization time. The method further can include sending the first promise-to-pay message. The method additionally can include receiving a first response at the application service provider indicating a successful credit of the second account maintained by the second financial institution. The method further can include sending a notification to the sender from the application service provider in real-time after the payment authorization time of the successful credit of the second account maintained by the second financial institution. A method including receiving a first promise-to-pay message at a second financial institution. The method also can include performing a successful credit for the payment amount to a second account maintained by the second financial institution to make funds available in the second account in real-time after the payment authorization time. The method additionally can include sending a first response from the second financial institution indicating the successful credit of the second account maintained by the second financial institution to inform at least the sender in real-time after the payment authorization time of the successful credit of the second account maintained by the second financial institution. A method including receiving a debit message at a first financial institution to debit a first account maintained by the first financial institution based on a payment authorization for a payment amount made by a sender at a payment authorization time, the first account being held by the sender. The method also can include performing a successful debit for the payment amount from the first account maintained by the first financial institution in real-time after the payment authorization time. The method additionally can include sending a debit response from the first financial institution in real-time after the payment authorization time. Other embodiments are provided.

Account data (e.g., balance information) for accounts at a plurality of financial institutions (or government agencies) is stored (and updated) in a central database system and accessed using a personal identifier, such as a social security number. Risk data may be generated for accounts based on the account data. The account data and risk data are accessed in response to either an account search request (e.g., from a government entity and relating to a benefits program or a subpoena) or an account verification request (e.g. from a mortgage company and relating to a mortgage application).

Identity data for an applicant opening a bank account is provided to an ID confidence scoring system. The scoring system accesses a multi-source data management system, using queries that include a base component, a link component and a function component. Data records maintained by the multi-source data management system include header data having identity data elements, with the header data analyzed pursuant to the queries. Queries may also be provided to an entity resolution system having data records organized in data networks, each data network corresponding to a single entity. Query results are used to develop an ID confidence score for applicant identity data.

Identity confidence scoring system and method

A system for identifying and expediting the release of held items, such as checks. Paying banks (having accounts against which the checks are drawn) provide paid item files to the system, and depository banks (where checks have been deposited) provide held item files to the system. If there is a match of a paid item file and held item file (indicating that a held check has been paid by the paying bank), the depository bank is notified that the item has been paid and that the hold may be released.

System and method for expedited release of held items

A plurality of banks of first deposit provide checking account activity data for both transit items (checks received for deposit that need to be cleared) and incoming returns (bounced checks) to a statistical model which determines from the data the likelihood that a check from a specific checking account will be returned. This data is used to populate a database of checking accounts to be used for making check risk decisions, such as check hold policy decisions, check acceptance decisions, and open to buy decisions.
