A system to facilitate infrastructure management is described. The system includes a plurality of management controllers each having a control function of a plurality of infrastructure devices and a state cache storing a state of the plurality of infrastructure devices, including a first management controller to initiate an operation to be performed on a first set of resources. The system also includes a plurality of infrastructure controllers, each having a state repository to maintain a state function of the plurality of infrastructure devices, including a first infrastructure controller associated with the first set of resources to perform the operation on the first set of resources, update a first state repository including an updated state of the first set of resources in response to the operation and broadcast the updated state of the first set of resources to each of the plurality of management controllers.

Peer to peer infrastructure management architecture

In example implementations, an apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a communication interface, a non-transitory computer readable storage medium, a processor, and an actuator device. The communication interface receives alerts associated with hardware errors from a data center management system (DCMS). The non-transitory computer readable medium is stores a policy that defines rules for correcting the hardware errors associated with the alerts. The processor compares each one of the hardware errors from the alerts to the policy to identify correctable hardware errors from the hardware errors. The actuator devices generates a control signal that is transmitted to the DCMS via the communication interface to initiate a correction action for the correctable hardware errors.

Automatically recommending workload placement in a data center. Historical data and workload constraints of a plurality of workloads are received. A plurality of resources of the data center available for placement of the plurality of workloads is identified. Resource constraints of the plurality of resources are received. Headroom ratings are assigned to the plurality of workloads based on the historical data, the workload constraints and the resource constraints. A consolidation recommendation of the plurality of workloads on the plurality of the resources in said the center is automatically generated based on an analysis of the historical data, the plurality of workloads, the plurality of available resources in the data center and the headroom ratings.
