A foldable intraocular lens, made from a foldable soft material, for implantation in a ciliary sulcus of an eye having an iris, is provided with an optically active lens part having an optical axis and at least four haptics unitary with the optically active lens part and uniformly spaced about a periphery of the optically active lens part. The optically active lens part having a non-convex rim between any two neighboring haptics being free from surface irregularities that interfere with the iris. Each haptic comprising a closed loop, and a shoulder connecting the loop with the optically active lens part, the haptic loops being elastically deformable in a plane perpendicular to the optical axis of the optically active lens part in a direction toward the optically active lens part.

Intraocular lens for implantation in a ciliary sulcus of an eye

An injection assembly for a flexible intraocular lens, includes an injector body () accommodating a sliding push member (), and a compaction and ejection chamber () rigidly connected to the injector body. The injection assembly includes a cartridge () receiving an intraocular lens () in a non-stressed state, the cartridge () being stored separately in a sterile container (), and the compaction and injection chamber () is pivotably connected to the distal end of the injector body so as to be capable of occupying two positions, namely: a cartridge-loading position, in which the chamber is folded along the injector body, and an injection position, in which the chamber is aligned with the injector body. A tab () makes it possible to release the push member () when the tab is placed in a position for locking the compaction and injection chamber in a closed position on the injector body.

An intraocular implant () including an optical portion () and a haptic portion (), the haptic portion including two diametrically opposite haptic systems (), characterized in that each of the haptic systems () includes two substantially identical haptics () interconnected by their respective distal ends (), the respective proximal ends () of the two haptics () being connected to the optical portion () via a stalk (), the width of each of the haptics () decreasing continuously all along the haptic toward the distal end ().
