According to one aspect, a control circuit for a tubular light emitting diode (TLED) lamp may include an input detection circuit that detects, from an input signal, a type of control desired based on a characteristic of the input signal and generate an output signal, a digital control circuit that controls operation according to a digital lighting protocol, and an analog control circuit that controls operation according to a voltage associated with the input signal. The digital control circuit may be enabled or disabled based on the output signal. The analog control circuit may be enabled or disabled based on the output signal.

A system and method for providing high power factor wired lamp control that include receiving a lighting control input though a switch that is associated with at least one of: an operation and a function of at least one lamp. The system and method also include determining if an environment of the at least one lamp includes a connection between a neutral wire and the switch. The system and method additionally include communicating at least one electronic data command associated with the lighting control input to the at least one lamp through an AC power cycle. The system and method further include controlling the at least one lamp to operate based on the lighting control input based on the receipt of the at least one electronic data command communicated through the AC power cycle.

System and method for providing high power factor wired lamp control

A buck-boost converter may include a first switch, an inductor, a first diode, a second switch, a second diode, and a capacitor. A cathode end of the first diode may be coupled to a first end of the inductor and a second end of the first switch. An anode end of the second diode may be coupled to a second end of the inductor and a first end of the second switch. A second end of the capacitor may be coupled to a second end of the second switch and an anode end of the first diode. A first end of the capacitor may be coupled to a cathode end of the second diode.

Tubular LED ballast buck-boost converter

A system and method for providing high power factor wired lamp control that include receiving a lighting control input though a switch that is associated with at least one of: an operation and a function of at least one lamp. The system and method also include processing a digital data packet that includes at least one electronic data command associated with the lighting control input. The system and method additionally include implementing at least one powerline interruption associated with an AC power cycle to communicate the digital data packet to the at least one lamp. The system and method further include controlling the at least one lamp to operate based on the lighting control input based on the receipt of the digital data packet communicated through the AC power cycle.

Systems and methods for reconfiguration of illumination products are presented. An illumination product comprises components that implement a device access framework to facilitate access to the configuration of the illumination product by external components. Components internal to or otherwise associated with the illumination product codify various configuration parameters associated with the illumination product in one or more files (e.g., text files) and/or file attributes (e.g., filenames). One or more external components coupled to the internal components use a file access API to read from, write to, and/or otherwise manipulate the files (e.g., modify file content and/or file attributes) so as to access and/or affect the configuration parameters. Changes to the configuration parameters invoked by the external components are detected by the internal components and applied to the configuration (e.g., operational settings) of the illumination product.

Illumination product reconfiguration

Disclosed is an LED lamp system designed to fit into a fluorescent lamp fixture and to utilize a fluorescent lamp power supply contained in the fixture and receiving power from AC mains. The LED lamp system includes an LED driver which comprises a power factor corrected driver circuit for achieving a power factor of at least about 0.8. The LED driver further comprises a current control circuit, responsive to the presence of a three-wire magnetic ballast in the fluorescent lamp power supply, for increasing the LED operating current above the nominal rated LED operating current and to a level sufficient to achieve power factor of the LED driver of at least about 0.8.

LED lamp system

An LED lamp or LED lighting assembly includes a light guide having opposed major surfaces configured to propagate light by total internal reflection and a light input edge extending between the major surfaces. A light source is adjacent to the light input edge and is configured to edge light the light guide. In some embodiments, the light source is moveable relative to the light input edge, and the spectrum of the light output from the light guide may be adjusted by movement of the light source relative to the light input edge.

An elongated LED lamp suitable for replacing a fluorescent lamp in a lamp fixture comprises a chassis having a first chassis end with two electrodes adapted to be respectively coupled to two electrodes in the lamp fixture supplying AC power, and a second chassis end. A light source depends from the chassis. A power regulating circuit is mounted to the chassis and is coupled to the two electrodes for providing DC power to the first light source. A first light collector conditions the light it collects light from the first light source for TIR propagation within a side-light distribution arrangement. An elongated side-light distribution portion depends from the chassis and receives light exiting the first light collector. Light-extraction structure extract light from the side of the first portion, along a length of the first portion, in a different direction from the direction of light received from the first light collector.

Elongated LED lamp for replacing a fluorescent lamp

An elongated LED lighting arrangement comprises an elongated light pipe with homogeneous optical material between first and second ends. In an exemplary embodiment, an LED provides blue light to the light pipe via a first dichroic mirror tuned to pass blue light. Down-converting means on sidewall of the light pipe, tuned to receive blue light, absorbs blue light from the LED and to emit lower-energy light outside of the light pipe at respectively higher wavelengths. Light-extracting means on the sidewall extract from the light pipe some blue light without changing the wavelengths of the foregoing light. Light from the down-converting means and the light-extracting means are combined to provide a composite color. The first dichroic mirror receives some light emitted by the down-converting means and reflects back into the light pipe more than 80 percent of the light received by the mirror.

Elongated LED lighting arrangement

An LED lighting system, with first and second types of LEDs of different efficacies, has a reduced-power usage mode. A control system independently controls first and second control groups of first and second types of LEDs, respectively. The control system has one or more modes including a reduced-power usage mode for decreasing the overall power consumption of the lighting system while maintaining a light level of at least a predetermined percentage of the level present when the first control group of LEDs operates at a power level between less-than-full power and full power and the second control group is off. The predetermined percentage is 50. The control system decreases the overall power consumption of the lighting system in the reduced-power usage mode by turning off or dimming the first control group and turning on the second control group to at least some extent.

LED lighting system having a reduced-power usage mode

An LED lighting arrangement comprising at least one LED, for producing light is disclosed. A power supply provides power for the at least one LED. At least one control circuit is coupled to the at least one LED in a way that directly or indirectly uses, to power the at least one control circuit, one or more forward voltage drops across the at least one LED. Beneficially, one or more additional control circuits can be added without redesign of the power supply for the at least one LED.

LED lighting arrangement

A method of making an optical filter wheel of a device synchronizable with an internal, rotatable virtual reference wheel, created in a memory of a motor controller of the device, is disclosed. The method includes a single trigger event that initializes rotation of the virtual reference wheel. The controller determines the orientation of an optical filter wheel of the device and maintains an ongoing representation of said orientation over time. The controller controls the motor, which causes the filter wheel to become coincident with the virtual reference wheel after the trigger event. A self-contained light fixture is also disclosed, which includes an optical filter wheel driven by an electric motor that is synchronizable with an internal, rotatable virtual reference wheel of the fixture. The method and light fixture permits optical filter wheels of multiple light fixtures, which may be identical, to synchronize with one another.
