An electromechanical actuator () is provided. The actuator comprises an electrical motor () controlling a ball ramp mechanism. The ball ramp mechanism is configured to allow for mutual rotation of a first and second rotational member () up to a first torque of the electrical motor (), and to allow for axial separation of the first and second rotational members () at a second torque of the electrical motor ().

Electromechanical actuator

The actuator () comprises an electric drive means () and a drive member () being rotationally driven upon activation of the electric drive means (), an output member () being rotationally connected to the drive member () by means of a first spring (), and a second spring () being connected to the output member () and forming a one way clutch between the output member () and a fixed tube (), wherein the electrical actuator () further comprises a regulation cup () being configured to engage with the second spring () to disconnect the output member () from the fixed tube ().

Electrical actuator

The invention relates to a disc brake actuator () for a vehicle. The disc brake actuator () comprises an electrical drive () and a transmission unit () which is driven by the electrical drive (). The transmission unit () comprises a ramp transmission system () and a threaded transmission system (). The ramp transmission system () and the threaded transmission system () are arranged in series in the force flow of the transmission unit ().

Disc brake actuator for a vehicle

A hydraulic disc coupling () for a system distributing torque between the left and right wheels and/or the front and rear axles of a vehicle is provided. A coupling piston () is configured to be mechanically locked by an integrated locking arrangement (), when the coupling piston () is actuated to act on the disc package (), such that the coupling remains engaged whereby the input () is connected to the output () of the coupling () without hydraulic pressure acting on the coupling piston (). Unlocking of the integrated locking arrangement () is provided by again actuating the coupling piston ().

Hydraulic coupling

An actuator for connecting and disconnecting a dog clutch between two coaxial shafts () by means of an axially movable clutch sleeve () comprises an electric motor. A motor shaft () of the motor is connected to a rotatable actuator rod (). This rod () is provided at its end with an eccentric pin () for such cooperation with the clutch sleeve () that a rotation of the actuator rod () 180&#xb0; or less by means of the motor from a rotational position corresponding to one axial end position of the clutch sleeve () to a rotational position corresponding to the other axial end position of the clutch sleeve () leads to a connection or disconnection of the dog clutch.

Actuator for a dog clutch and a method for its control

A torque vectoring device for a vehicle is provided, comprising an electrical motor () being connected to a differential mechanism () via a transmission (), wherein the torque vectoring device further comprises at least one control means () for changing the torque path of the transmission () between a first mode, in which the transmission connects the electrical motor () to the input shaft of the differential mechanism () for hybrid drive mode, and a second mode, in which the transmission connects the electrical motor () to the output shaft of the differential mechanism () for torque vectoring mode.

Torque vectoring device

A disconnected, hydraulic disc coupling () in an AWD vehicle with a hydraulic cylinder () for its actuation is to be quickly connected or engaged. The effective piston area in the cylinder () is for that reason reduced during the connection phase.

Method for operating a hydraulic disc coupling in an AWD vehicle and a coupling therefore

In a hydraulic system with a dog clutch (-), a hydraulically operated dog clutch actuator is arranged to alternatively bring the dog clutch into a connect mode or a disconnect mode. The clutch actuator has a piston () reciprocally movable under hydraulic pressure between two end positions, corresponding to the two clutch modes. Pressurized hydraulic oil is supplied to the clutch actuator by a hydraulic power system comprising a pump () driven by an electric motor (). Means are provided in the clutch actuator to decrease the hydraulic pressure acting on the piston () at the approaching by the piston of either of its end positions, so that a hydraulic signal is transmitted back to the hydraulic power system.

Hydraulic system with a dog clutch

An electrically actuated brake assembly includes a brake disc, a brake pad, and an electric motor having a rotatable output shaft. A service brake transmission in operative rotational communication with the output shaft causes service braking of the vehicle in response to rotation of the output shaft, and an adjuster mechanism is operable to adjust a distance between the brake pad and the brake disc. An adjuster transmission operatively connected between the output shaft and the adjuster mechanism causes operative rotational communication between the output shaft and the adjuster mechanism when the adjuster transmission is engaged so as to transmit rotational movement of the output shaft to the adjuster mechanism, and causes there to be no operative rotational communication between the output shaft and the adjuster mechanism when the adjuster transmission is disengaged so as to not transmit rotational movement of the output shaft to the adjuster mechanism.

Park lock and pad wear adjusting arrangement for electrically actuated brake

A device for torque vectoring in a wheeled vehicle is presented. The device includes a differential mechanism arranged on an axle having a first drive shaft and a second drive shaft, an electrical power source connected to an electrical motor, the electrical motor being connectable to the axle for torque vectoring between the first drive shaft and the second drive shaft, and control means connected to the power source and configured to receive a plurality of variables representing the current vehicle state and to determine drive currents being dependent on the variables, wherein the drive currents are supplied to the electrical motor from the power source for introducing a torque increase to either one of the first or second drive shafts and a corresponding torque decrease to the other one of the first or second drive shafts.

Torque vectoring device with planetary gear set for connection to balancing shaft

A torque vectoring device (-) for two half-axles of a vehicle drive axle, provided with a conventional differential (-), through which drive torque is supplied from a propulsion motor, is connected on one hand to one of the half-axles (), on the other hand to the cage () of the differential (-). An electric motor () of the torque vectoring device is connected via a differential transmission in the form of a planetary gearing () to said one of the half-axles () and the cage (). The arrangement is such that the electric motor stands still, when the rotational speed of the half-axle () and the cage () is the same.

A vehicle drive axle arrangement comprises an electric drive motor (), a left shaft () and a right shaft (), coaxial with each other, in drive connection with the motor (), and intended for connection to respective driving half-axles of the vehicle in which the arrangement can be mounted, and a differential mechanism (-). The electric drive motor () is coaxial with and arranged around the left shaft (), and the differential mechanism (-)&#x2014;receiving rotary motion from the electric motor ()&#x2014;comprises a reduction gearing () and a planetary gearing (-), operatively connecting the two shafts (-).

Electrically driven vehicle drive axle arrangement

An electrical axle for a four wheeled road vehicle with an electrical propulsion motor arranged coaxially on the axle. A first planetary gear is connected to the electrical propulsion motor and to a first side of the axle. A second planetary gear is connected to the electrical propulsion motor and to a second side of the axle. The first and second planetary gears form a differential mechanism. A torque vectoring unit includes an electrical motor arranged coaxially on the axle for providing a change in torque distribution between the first side and the second side of the axle. The electrical motor of the torque vectoring unit is connected to the first and second planetary gears.

Electrical axle

One embodiment may include a system for distributing torque between front and rear axles of an all wheel drive vehicle and/or between left and right wheels of a two or four wheel drive vehicle comprises at least one limited slip coupling having a disc package and a piston acting thereon, the piston being actuated by a hydraulic pump assembly. This assembly has an electric motor, a hydraulic pump driven thereby, and a centrifugal regulator also driven thereby, the centrifugal regulator controlling a pressure overflow valve, connected to the oil outlet of the hydraulic pump. The assembly specifically comprises an axial piston pump having a piston drum rotatable in a pump housing and containing a number of reciprocable axial pistons, at least one centrifugal lever pivotally attached to the piston drum, and a valve member connected to the centrifugal lever and being arranged for cooperation with the mouth of an oil outlet bore in the piston drum to form the pressure overflow valve.
