A method for operating a brake system of a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, including at least one wheel brake having a displaceable brake piston and an electric motor first actuator of a parking brake and a hydraulic second actuator of an operating brake for displacing the brake piston in each case. For operating the parking brake, the electric motor first actuator is activated in order to set a specifiable target clamping force of the wheel brake. If the maximum clamping force that is achievable by the electric motor first actuator is lower than the target clamping force, then the hydraulic second actuator is activated to provide an additional clamping force.

In a method for actuating a parking brake in a vehicle, a clamping force is generated by an electromechanical braking device comprising a brake motor. The motor voltage of the brake motor is determined on the basis of the control-unit input voltage of a closed-loop or open-loop control unit.

In a method for adjusting the clamping force exerted by a parking brake, which force is applied by an electric-motor braking apparatus and by a hydraulic braking apparatus, the hydraulic inlet pressure generated by the driver and existing in the hydraulic braking apparatus is utilized to generate a hydraulic clamping force; and for the case in which the hydraulic clamping force is not sufficient to reach a target clamping force, an electric clamping force is generated in supplementary fashion.
