An inductor core including a two separate inductor core components which, when assembled with each other, together form the inductor core and define a common axis; wherein the inductor core components form at least one magnetic flux barrier, the magnetic flux barrier having a width in the circumferential direction relative to the common axis; wherein the width is adjustable by rotating the inductor core components relative to each other around the common axis.

Inductor core

The inductor core has a higher magnetic permeability than air, and includes an endless channel adapted for containing an inductor winding, where the inductor core extends along a first axis A, and the inductor winding extends completely around the first axis A of the inductor core in such a way that the inductor winding has a number of discrete positions or first sections where it extends in a direction being perpendicular to the first axis A of the inductor core, and wherein the inductor winding, between the discrete positions or first sections, has second sections where it extends at least partly along the first axis A.

Inductor and inductor core

A pole piece structure is provided to be used as part of an active rotor structure for an electrical rotary machine, wherein the active rotor structure is circular comprising pole pieces and permanent magnets magnetized in the circumferential direction of the rotor structure, wherein the rotor pole piece structure is a single structure with at least two individually spaced pole pieces connected by an integration bridge. Further provided is a method of manufacturing a rotor pole piece structure and a rotor for an electrical machine with a rotor pole piece structure. The assembly of magnets to the pole pieces is significantly enhanced using these rotor pole piece structures as described.

Integrated rotor pole pieces

A hub electric motor unit for a motor-driven or motor-assisted vehicle, the vehicle comprising a frame, a wheel having a hub and a wheel rim connected to the hub by a plurality of spokes; the hub electric motor unit comprising a shaft connectable to the frame of the vehicle, a stator unit mounted on the hub shaft, a rotor disposed around and coaxially with the hub shaft; a hub shell rotatably mounted on the hub shaft, wherein the hub shell comprises two cap members axially disposed on respective sides of the rotor; wherein each cap member comprises a connecting part for connecting a respective subset of the spokes.

According to one aspect, there is provided an inductor core including: an axially extending core member, an axially extending external member at least partly surrounding the core member, thereby forming a space around the core member for accommodating a winding between the core member and the external member, a plate member presenting a radial extension and being provided with a through-hole, wherein the core member is arranged to extend into the through-hole, wherein the plate member is a separate member from the core member and the external member and is adapted to be assembled with the core member and the external member, wherein a magnetic flux path is formed which extends through the core member, the plate member and the external member.

A permanent magnet machine is provided including a stator and a rotor, the rotor being adapted to rotate relative to the stator, the rotor including a plurality of permanent magnets separated in the circumferential direction from each other by radially extending rotor pole pieces for concentrating the magnetic flux from the permanent magnets, the stator having a structure that defines radial limits of an air gap between the stator and the rotor for communicating magnetic flux between the stator and the rotor, wherein at least some of the permanent magnets extend radially outside the radial limits of the air gap as defined by the stator structure.

Permanent magnet rotor with flux concentrating pole pieces

A compaction tool is provided for compacting an element from metal powder where the element has uniform axially displaced protrusions, and the tool comprises a die and a top and a bottom punch with punch surfaces. The top and bottom punch comprises displaceable opposing punch surfaces for displacing the metal powder there between before compacting the element. Additionally provided are a method for compacting an element from metal powder and an element made from such a method.

Stator compacted in one piece

A permanent magnet machine is provided comprising a stator and a rotor, the rotor being adapted to rotate relative to the stator, the rotor comprising a plurality of permanent magnets separated in the circumferential direction from each other by axially extending rotor pole pieces for concentrating the magnetic flux from the permanent magnets, the stator having a structure that defines axial limits of an air gap between the stator and the rotor for communicating magnetic flux between the stator and the rotor, wherein that at least some of the permanent magnets extend axially outside the axial limits of the air gap as defined by the stator structure.

A linear motor comprising a stator core and/or a mover. The stator core of said linear motor comprising an inner perimeter, an outer perimeter essentially encircling the inner perimeter, a first and a second tooth being arranged along one of the inner perimeter or the outer perimeter, a slot for receiving a stator coil, said slot being a cavity arranged within the stator core, wherein said stator core is divided into a first stator part and a second stator part, said first stator part including the first tooth, being arranged to partially define the slot, and being made of soft magnetic powder, and said second stator part including the second tooth, being arranged to partially define the slot, and being made of soft magnetic powder. The mover of said linear motor comprising at least one section of soft magnetic material and at least one permanent magnet, the at least one section of soft magnetic material and the at least one permanent magnet being aligned in an axial direction of the mover, wherein a polarization vector of said at least one permanent magnet is directed axially.
