The invention concerns a sluice feeder comprising an inlet (), an outlet (), and a rotor (), into which sluice feeder material to be fed from a first medium to a second medium sealed from the first medium is fed to the inlet (). The inlet () is directed towards the centre portion of the rotor (), the rotor () and a cooperating stator (), respectively, show at least a radial opening () each and are provided so that at least one pocket () is formed, which alternating opens and seals upon rotation of the rotor (). The material is thrown radially outwards by the rotor () to the pocket () to finally be emptied from the pocket () to the outlet at the same time as the pocket () is sealed towards the inlet () by means of the stator ().

Sluice feeder

A system for feeding fibres from a fibre separation step at a first pressure to a drying step at a second, lower pressure, the system comprising a sluice feeder () provided between the fibre separation step and the drying step. At least an outlet () of the sluice feeder () is enclosed by a housing () for pressurization by means of a pressure medium in the housing () to a pressure that essentially corresponds to the first pressure in the sluice feeder (). The fed out fibre from the sluice feeder () to the housing () are removable by means of the pressure medium in the housing () via a control valve (), which regulates the pressure in the housing (), to the drying step at the second, lower pressure. The pressurization in the housing () prevents steam to escape from the sluice feeder (). A method for feeding fibres, the fibres are fed to a sluice feeder () which is pressurized from the outside by means of a pressure medium and are fed out by means of the pressure medium via a pressure regulating control valve () to the drying step.

Method and apparatus for the feeding of fibers

An apparatus for pressure tight discharge of refiner material, such as cellulosic material by using a screw which feeds the material between a screw shaft and screw housing whereby a pressure tight material plug is formed at an outlet of the screw housing. The screw is, at the out end, provided with a flange which together with a throttle journalled around the flange forms an adjustable outlet opening through which material is fed out by the screw while the material forms a pressure tight material plug.

The rotor pocket ( ) is provided with a radially inwards facing opening for steam ( ), which can be connected with a steam outlet ( ) of the housing ( ) at least once per revolution during the rotation of the rotor ( ). The invention also relates to a method for treating milling products.

Apparatus for treating milling products to recover steam energy which includes a rotor having at least one pocket therein which is rotatably mounted within a housing so that the pocket is sequentially brought into open communication with a material inlet, milling product discharge opening, and steam outlet and wherein milling product received into the pocket when aligned with the material inlet is discharged through the milling product discharge opening and the steam separated therefrom thereafter discharged through the steam outlet. The discharged milling product is subsequently conveyed through a steam tight discharge device.
