The invention concerns a method of steering a vehicle, particularly an articulated vehicle, in which a valve element of a main valve is moved so that it releases or closes connections between a supply connection arrangement and a working connection arrangement in dependence of a steering direction and a steering angle. To improve the steering comfort, the movement speed of the valve element is controlled.

Method of steering a vehicle

A hydraulic steering arrangement with a steering handwheel which is connected with a hydraulic steering unit, and with a steering motor connected with a pump via a steering valve. In a steering arrangement of this kind, a simple construction is desired, though under maintenance of the required security. For this purpose, the steering valve can optionally be operated by a steering handwheel or by a hydraulic pressure generated by a control pressure generator.

Hydraulic steering arrangement

A hydraulic steering arrangement with a steering handwheel, which is connected with a hydraulic steering unit, and a steering motor, which is connected with a pump via a steering valve. In a steering arrangement of this kind an improvement of the steering comfort is desired. For this purpose, a supply line is located between the steering unit and the pump, and a pressure reduction valve is located in the supply line.

A hydraulic steering arrangement, having a steering value, which connects a steering motor with a pump, and which has a slide with two front sides, the slide being adjustable by means of a pressure fluid both through a hydraulic steering unit with a steering hand wheel and through an electro hydraulic steering unit with a control pressure generator. The two steering units have working connections and the front sides of the slide are connected with shuttle valves, each of which is connected with hydraulic steering unit on the one side and with the electro hydraulic steering unit on the other side. A valve arrangement connects the working connection of both steering units, which has the highest pressure, with one front side of the slide, and the working connection of both steering units, which has the lowest pressure, with the other front side of the slide.
