The invention relates to a furnace for the treatment of material, in particular for the oxidative treatment of fiber material, in particular for producing carbon fibers, comprising a housing () having a housing inner space (), which is gas-tight with the exception of passage areas () for the fibers (). In the housing inner space () of the housing (), a process chamber () is located. A hot working atmosphere () can be generated by means of an atmosphere device (). The atmosphere device () comprises a flow system () having flow channels (), which are arranged in the housing inner space () each defining one flow chamber (), and are provided with flow passages such that the respective flow chambers () are fluidically connected to the process chamber () in such a way that hot working atmosphere () can be delivered to the process chamber () in at least one main flow direction () and can be discharged from the process chamber (). A revision system () is provided, through which flow chambers () of flow channels () are accessible through the housing ().

Furnace and method for treating material

An oxidation furnace for the oxidative treatment of fibers having a housing which is gas-tight, apart from passage openings for the fibers, inter alia. A process chamber is located in the interior of the housing. Deflecting rollers guide the fibers through the process chamber in a serpentine manner so that the fibers lie next to one another as a fiber carpet which spans a plane between opposite deflecting rollers. An atmosphere-generating device can generate a hot working atmosphere and includes a blowing device with at least one outlet window through which a hot working atmosphere can be blown into the process chamber between two adjacent planes of the fiber carpet (). The working atmosphere is guided into the process chamber by a flow guiding system. The flow guiding system includes exchangeable flow guiding elements with flow passages which can be detachably and/or movably mounted on the blowing device, before the outlet window.

Oxidation furnace

An oxidation furnace for the oxidative treatment of fibers having a housing which is gas-tight, apart from passage areas for the fibers, and a process chamber located in the interior of the housing. A hot working atmosphere can be generated by an atmosphere-generating device, can be blown into the process chamber and flows through the process chamber in processing conditions in a main direction of flow. Deflecting rollers guide the fibers through the process chamber in a serpentine manner in such a way that the fibers lie next to one another as a fiber carpet (), wherein the fiber carpet spans a plane between opposite deflecting rollers. A flow measuring system is provided, by means of which a flow profile of the working atmosphere in processing conditions can be generated, and which comprises at least one sensor system for determining the speed of flow, the sensor system being arranged in a sensor region between two adjacent fiber carpets.

An oxidation furnace for the oxidative treatment of fibers, in particular for producing carbon fibers, the furnace having a housing with an inner space which is gas-tight apart from areas for the passage of the fibers. A process chamber is located in the inner space of the housing. Guide rollers guide the fibers arranged adjacently as a fiber carpet in a serpentine manner through the process chamber, the fiber carpet spanning respective planes between opposite guide rollers, a partial area of the inner space being defined both above and below said planes. The process chamber extends between a primary blowing device arranged on a blowing end of the housing and a primary suction device, where a primary gas is blown into a partial area by the primary blowing device in such a way that the process gas flows through the process area in a process flow direction. A secondary gas can be blown into the partial area by a secondary blowing device, on the side of the primary blowing device located at a distance from the process chamber, using a flow sealing device.

Outlet fiber carpets of outlet fibers that have left the process chamber and are on the way to a deflecting roller can be cooled in a specific manner by a fiber-cooling device before the outlet fiber carpets reach the deflecting roller.

An oxidation furnace for the oxidative treatment of fibers, in particular for producing carbon fibers, with a housing which is gas-tight, apart from passage areas for the carbon fibers, and a process chamber located in the interior of the housing. Hot air can be blown into the process chamber by at least one air inlet device. Deflecting rollers flanking the process chamber guide the fibers arranged side by side in the form of a carpet through the process chamber in a serpentine manner, wherein each fiber carpet spans a plane between opposite deflecting rollers. The air inlet device allows hot air to be diverted to the side of the deflecting rollers facing away from the process chamber such that hot air flows over the respective deflecting roller and the fibers before it enters the process chamber.
