A method in a first network node handles data sessions in a communications network. The method includes receiving information indicating a second data session entering the communications network. The method further includes creating a second rule associated with the second data session. The second rule causes the first data session to be associated with the second data session. The method further includes determining that the second rule share a guaranteed bit rate (GBR) with a first rule associated with the first data session based on the second data session entering the communications network. The method further includes transmitting first information that the second rule and an indicator indicating the first rule and the second rule should share the GBR.

Sharing resource reservation

The embodiments herein relates to a method for enabling multiple bearer support upon congestion situations in a communication network. The PCC architecture is enabled to determine whether separate bearers need to be established for service(s) that demand MBR&#x3e;GBR when no ECN support is provided. This is provided in nodes and methods receiving, using a receiving unit (), an indication of session establishment for a bearer from a bearer binding function unit (), obtaining profile information with Quality of Service, QoS, information about maximum bit rate, MBR, and guaranteed bit rate, GBR, related to the bearer; determining that the MBR is larger than the GBR, making a policy decision, and transmitting, using the transmitting unit (), an acknowledgement of session establishment to the bearer binding function unit with an indicator that a separate bearer is to be established.

Multiple bearer support upon congestion situations

The invention discloses a user terminal () for a wireless communications system () which is arranged to establish and carry out a communications session with a gateway node () in the system () according to a first protocol over at least one bearer (). The user terminal () is arranged to provide a predefined issued message to the gateway node () during the establishment of a session with an indicator that the user terminal () is arranged to handle traffic to and from the gateway node () using a predefined version of a defined filter ().

Devices for variable traffic flow templates

A Packet Data Network Gateway, a PDN-GW (), arranged to receive and forward packet data of at least a first and a second service flow in both an uplink and a downlink direction, with a first access network () of a first kind being used for the first service flow and a second access network () of a second kind being used for the second service flow. Multiple access system

The present invention relates to a solution for handling deferred leg linking in policy and charging rules function in a telecommunications network in relation to handover between two different access technologies. Method and apparatus for deferred leg linking in PCRF in relation to handover

A communication system includes a user equipment (UE) and a gateway. The UE sends data packets on one or more bearers to the gateway. One or more packet filters are installed in the UE for associating the data packets with the bearers. A decision is performed if installation of a new packet filter in the UE is required to map the data packets of indicated data traffic to a particular bearer. The result of the decision may then be indicated from a policy controller to a gateway and/or from the gateway to the UE. Depending on the result of the decision, the gateway may initiate signaling of the new packet filter to the UE and/or the UE may install the new packet filter.
