A method, network node and wireless device in a wireless communication system for one of transmitting and receiving a phase-tracking reference signal, PT-RS. The method includes obtaining information about a position in a time domain of a scheduled first demodulation reference signal, DM-RS, in a slot, and one of transmitting and receiving the PT-RS within the slot, the position of the PT-RS depending on the position in the time domain of the scheduled first DM-RS.

A user equipment () is provided for use in a cellular network. The user equipment includes a transceiver (), a processor (), and a memory (). The user equipment () is configured to determine, for a data transmission, a mapping form a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) to a PNT-RS. A DMRS resulting signal is generated from a subset of DMRS for a first resource element in a subcarrier. According to an aspect, a wireless node selects a set of reference signal antenna ports for use in transmitting data to other wireless nodes in a given transmit time interval, from a plurality of sets of reference signal antenna ports that are available for use and that include reference signal antenna ports having different reference signal densities in the frequency and/or time dimension. Methods and apparatus for enabling interference coordination in a communication network. A base station includes a plurality of antenna ports. Each antenna port is configured to transmit a reference signal, and each antenna port is associated with a respective cell. The base station determines a set of cells where transmissions of reference signals is to be performed from a reduced set of the plurality of antenna ports. The base station determines a subset of antenna ports in at least one cell of the determined set of cells to enable interference coordination in the network, and transmits the reference signal from the subset of antenna ports.
