The present invention generally relates to implantable medical devices, such as pacemakers, and, in particular, to a method and an implantable medical device capable of detecting the presence of noise caused by external noise sources. Voltages and/or impedances are measured over one or several electrode configurations. Based on the measured voltages and/or impedances, noise parameters are calculated, which are compared with reference values to detect the presence of noise. In another aspect of the invention, at least two different electrode configurations with different noise pick-up areas are used in the measurement. Relations between the noise parameters of the at least two vectors are calculated and compared with reference relations to detect the presence of noise.

Method and device for detecting noise

In a night vision arrangement for a motor vehicle a camera is provided which captures an image which is subsequently displayed on a display arrangement which may be a head-up display arrangement. The camera directs light on to a beam deflector which may be constituted by a mirror which deflects the beam so that it passes along a neck on to a sensor. The camera may relatively easily be mounted in position in a motor vehicle.

Night vision arrangement

In a night vision arrangement for a motor vehicle in which a camera captures an infra-red image of the roadway in front of the vehicle, a video signal generated by the camera is processed by a signal processor so that the field of view of the image displayed by a display unit is selected in accordance with a control signal. The control signal is generated by a signal generator which is responsive to one or more parameters of the movement of the vehicle. The width of the field of view may be decreased with increasing speed. The axial direction of the field of view may be adjusted depending upon the nature of a turning movement of the vehicle.

Class D-amplifier

A pulse amplifier implemented in standard CMOS, comprises a control circuit for controlling a driver stage for driving a class D output stage that comprises a first PMOS-transistor and a first NMOS-transistor with interconnected drain contacts. A driver stage comprises a first driver and a second driver coupled with the output stage. Furthermore, a second NMOS transistor and second to fifth PMOS transistors are provided and interconnected in a way that most of the control signals needed to switch the high voltage output, specifically the drivers, are generated within a low voltage block. These factors contribute to lowering the total power dissipation.

In an optical scanning device in which the active scanning means comprises a rotating polygon provided with a plurality of reflecting facets, the so-called optical invariant ##EQU1## wherein .phi. is the aperture of the scanning device, .alpha. is the field angle of the scan, the NETD is the so-called Noise Equivalent Difference Temperature, is increased by passing the beam path against the polygon so as to be reflected therefrom a multiple of times, and therein with substantially complete tracking of the facets while substantially filling the same completely over the full extension of the facets, with the exception of that facet located nearest the beam detector. This is effected with the aid of stationary beam-deflecting optical means which cause the mutual reproductions between facets with reflection of substantially full extension in the rotary direction of the polygon to take place against diametrically opposed facets at a magnification of approximately -1.

Optical scanning device

A scanning system for optical scanning of a scene in at least one dimension has a multi-faceted reflective scanning rotor as the scanning element. In order to have a high scanning efficiency a so-called facet-tracing is provided such that the beam path is reflected by first and second areas of reflection on the rotor, both areas being disposed in a non-collimated beam path. An optical beam converging means is disposed in the beam path between the scene and the rotor for forming a primary image of the scene between the beam converging means and the rotor. A substantially spherical mirror is disposed in the beam path of the system between the first and the second areas of reflection. A radiation detector is disposed at the end of the beam path. A beam converging optical element, such as a positive lens or a substantially spherical mirror, is disposed in the beam path between the first substantially spherical mirror and the second area of reflection. Means are provided to form a real image of the radiation detector in the beam path at a position between the first substantially spherical mirror and a location so close to the beam converging optical element that the element serves as a field element for this location of the real image.
