Apparatus for attaching a dental component to a dental implant

Certain embodiments of the invention relate to a method of manufacturing a dental bridge. In certain embodiments of the method, a pre-sintered blank made from a green body of ceramic material is subjected to a machining operation that transforms the blank into an intermediate product with a bridge structure and a support body linked to the bridge structure by one or several retaining sections that extend from the support body to the bridge structure. In certain embodiments, a sintering operation is then performed on the intermediate product while the retaining section(s) still link(s) the support body to the bridge structure.

Method of attaching a dental component to a dental implant

Methods of producing a dental product are disclosed. Certain methods include the steps of providing a pre-sintered blank made from a green body of ceramic material, performing a machining operation on the blank, and subsequently sintering the blank to its final density in a sintering operation performed at a temperature in the range of 1300&#xb0; C. to 1650&#xb0; C. The pre-sintered blank that is provided may have a strength in the range of 53-107 MPa.

Method of producing a dental product

In certain embodiments, a combination of a thread forming tool and an implant is disclosed. The thread forming tool can have a thread forming section with a helical thread having at least one cutting surface for cutting a thread in bone. The implant can include a bone apposition surface having at least one helical thread for position at least partially in the thread of the bone. A longitudinal cross-sectional shape of at least a portion of the helical thread of the thread forming section in certain embodiments, substantially corresponds to a longitudinal cross-sectional shape of at least a portion of the helical thread of the implant.

Components for threading of bone

A medical implant and a method of implanting a medical implant are described. In some embodiments, the medical implant can include an apical bone anchoring portion for bone apposition, and an unthreaded coronal portion. The coronal portion can have a length (L) exceeding or equaling a length (L) of the apical portion. Further, in some embodiments, the apical portion has a maximum outer diameter (D) that is equal to or larger than a maximum outer diameter (D) of the coronal portion. In some embodiments of the method, an apical part of an implant is affixed in the zygomatic bone, and a coronal part is positioned outside the maxilla in the mucous membrane.

Medical implant and method of implantation

In an arrangement for obtaining reliable anchoring of a threaded implant () in dentine, a hole () is made in the bone substance. In the side wall () of the hole it is possible to establish an internal threading which can cooperate with an external threading () on the implant. The implant threading is arranged to force the bone substance out in essentially radial directions as a function of the extent to which the implant is screwed into the hole. The threading is arranged to effect greater forcing out of the bone substance at the outer parts of the hole than at the inner parts of the hole. The degree of forcing out is adapted in relation to the softness of the bone in order to achieve the reliable anchoring. Along at least part of the longitudinal direction of the implant, the implant threading can be given a non-circular configuration for the purpose of obtaining improved rotational stability in soft/weak bone. The implant can also have two or more thread spirals/thread entries which shorten the time for screwing the implant into the hole and additionally offer tight threading which permits effective integration with the bone substance during the healing-in process.

Arrangement for obtaining reliable anchoring of a threaded implant in bone

An arrangement including a spacer element operative to support a superstructure and including a first passage and a second passage. The second passage is operative to permit mechanical anchoring of the holder. A first screw is operative to screw the spacer element into an implant. During an initial stage of insertion the first passage is operative to receive the first screw such that a center axis of the first screw is inclined in relation to a direction of screwing of the first screw. During a final stage of insertion the first passage permits the first screw to tilt such that the center axis of the first screw substantially coincides with the direction of screwing. A holder is operative to hold the spacer element. The holder substantially prevents the first screw from leaving the position it has assumed during the final stage of insertion. A second screw is operative to screw the superstructure onto the spacer element.
