A radio communication apparatus operable over a wide range of frequencies including a signal processing device is provided. The device performs an analog to digital conversion at a predetermined sample rate independent of a selected frequency band within the wide range of frequencies to generate a digital signal, and digitally processes the digital signal to output a data signal at baseband associated with the selected frequency band.

Methods and systems for programmable digital down-conversion

Systems and methods for suppressing transmitter noise in a receive band of a co-located receiver that are suitable for wideband applications are disclosed. In one embodiment, a transmitter is configured to upconvert and amplify a digital transmit signal to provide an analog radio frequency transmit signal at an output of the transmitter that includes a desired signal in a transmit band of the transmitter and transmitter noise in a receive band of a main receiver. The main receiver is configured to amplify, downconvert, and digitize an analog radio frequency receive signal to provide a digital receive signal. The digital feedforward transmit noise cancellation subsystem is configured to process the digital transmit signal to generate a digital transmitter noise cancellation signal that is representative of the transmitter noise in the receive band and is subtracted from the digital receive signal to thereby provide a compensated digital receive signal.

Digital suppression of transmitter intermodulation in receiver

Pre-distorted transmitters operable over a wide range of frequencies including a plurality of predetermined frequency bands are provided. The transmitters include a programmable digital up-converter and a programmable digital down-converter, an ADC, a DAC, a power amplifier and at least one analog filter arranged along a transmit signal path and a feedback signal path.

Method and frequency agile pre-distorted transmitter using programmable digital up and down conversion

The present disclosure relates to compensation for Passive Intermodulation (PIM) distortion in a receiver. In one embodiment, a communication device includes a transmitter that is configured to receive a digital input signal and output a radio frequency transmit signal, a main receiver configured to receive a radio frequency receive signal and output a digital output signal, and a PIM compensation subsystem. The radio frequency receive signal includes PIM distortion that is a non-linear function of the radio frequency transmit signal output by the transmitter. In order to compensate for the PIM distortion, a PIM compensation subsystem receives the digital input signal of the transmitter, generates a digital PIM estimate signal that is an estimate of the PIM distortion in the digital output signal of the main receiver, and subtracts the digital PIM estimate signal from the digital output signal of the main receiver.
