The invention relates to a packaging machine and a method for the production of individual packagings. Each package may include a planar product carrier and a top film which encloses a product disposed on the product carrier in a gas-tight manner. The packaging machine may include a sealing station with a tool upper part having an outer frame and at least one sealing tool movably mounted for a sealing operation, and a tool lower part that comprises a belt conveying module with at least one conveyor belt mounted thereon. The tool upper part and the tool lower part are moved toward each other to form a sealing chamber in a closed position of the sealing station. In the closed position, the sealing tool may be lowered within the sealing chamber from a resting position to a sealing position to seal the package.

A method of closing a packaging tray comprises arranging a packaging tray between a lower tool and an upper tool of a sealing station, positioning a cover film above the packaging tray between the lower tool and the upper tool, and pressing together the cover film and the packaging tray by a lower sealing surface of the lower tool and an upper sealing surface of the upper tool cooperating with the lower sealing surface. During the pressing together, a connection is established between the cover film and the packaging tray along a sealing seam. While the cover film and the packaging tray are being pressed together, an overpressure is locally generated by supplying pressurized gas from a pressurized-gas source, the overpressure cooperating as a counterpressure with the lower sealing surface or with the upper sealing surface so as to press the cover film and the packaging tray together.

Sealing supported by pressurized air

The sealing device for packages that includes a control unit, a sealing station, an unwinder for a film web, a cutting device provided upstream of the sealing station and used for producing film sections of the film web, a film feed device for feeding the film sections to the sealing station, a conveying device for conveying packages into the sealing station. Preferrably, the packages include food packed in a gas-tight manner. Further, the sealing station may comprise upper and lower sealing elements that are configured for clamping the package and the film section in common between the lower and upper sealing elements and for sealing the film section onto the package. The sealing device may also include the sealing elements being adapted to be synchronously moved along with the continuously moving package during the sealing process.

Sealing device

The invention relates to an object carrier comprising a two-dimensional array of receptacles for trays having n rows and m lanes, with n and m each being integers equal to or greater than 2. The object carrier includes a plurality of notch elements provided on one or two mutually parallel outer sides. The invention further relates to a packaging system comprising a packaging machine, a transport system, at least one processing unit, and several multi-row object carriers. Several stop systems are provided along the transport system and are configured to stop an individual object carrier in an intermittent mode at consecutive notch elements of the object carrier in order to have at least one row of trays be processed by the processing unit.

Object carrier and packaging system

A transport device for transporting trays. The transport device including a first conveyor belt and a second conveyor belt that is downstream and follows the first conveyor belt. The first and second conveyor belts may have either a single- or multi-track design. The second conveyor belt may include a parallelization device configured to slowing down and/or accelerate one or more trays being conveyed on the second conveyor. The parallelization device may comprises at least one carrier with at least one acceleration finger and may be selectively moveable to prevent, slow down, allow, or accelerate a movement of a tray.

The present invention relates to a packaging machine comprising a sealing station, a conveying unit and at least one loose object carrier, which is configured for accommodating a plurality of packaging objects and adapted to be fed to and removed from the sealing station by means of the conveying unit, wherein the loose object carrier comprises an upper part for accommodating the packaging objects, and wherein, for sealing the packaging objects, the object carrier is movable within the sealing station from a preliminary position, to which it can be advanced by means of the conveying unit, to a sealing position, at which it has been moved into contact with a tool upper part of the sealing station, said sealing position being displaced in parallel relative to the preliminary position.

Packaging machine and method with loose object carrier

The invention relates to a method for sealing at least a packaging unit by means of a sealing tool lower part carrying the packaging unit, a sealing tool upper part, and a sealing plate. The sealing tool lower part is configured to perform a lifting movement by means of a drive. The invention is characterized in that the lifting movement is performed in a uniform, continuous motion from a lowered position, via an intermediate position in which a packaging unit is clamped, to a final position. The invention further relates to a sealing station for a packaging machine in which the sealing plate is suspended via a damping unit at the sealing tool upper part.

Method and sealing station for sealing packaging units

A working station for a packaging machine for sealing a package and quickly cutting a top film and a method for operating such a working station. The working station may include a sealing tool upper part, a sealing tool lower part, a sealing frame, a movable cutting tool having a blade for cutting a top film, and at least one energy storage device in operable engagement with the cutting tool and the sealing frame. The at least one energy storage device may be configured for accumulating potential energy upon a relative movement of the sealing frame with respect to the cutting tool. The working station may further include a holding mechanism that is operable to hold the cutting tool to a portion of the working station that is stationary with respect to the cutting tool and the sealing frame.
