The invention relates to a device () for the flexible roll forming of a semifinished product (), in particular a rolled sheet, to form a profile () with a cross section varying along the longitudinal axis thereof and/or with a varying longitudinal axis. The device () has a frame () and a number of supporting devices (), which are carried by the frame (). The supporting devices () are each movable in a translational manner in relation to the frame () and rotatably mounted. The device () also has a number of profiling units (), which each have a pair () of rotatably mounted rollers (), between which a rolling gap () remains. According to the invention, precisely two profiling units () are arranged in a rotatably mounted manner on each supporting device ().

Device and method for the flexible roll forming of a semifinished product

A method is provided for roll-forming a sheet metal strip () by driving the sheet metal strip through a row of forming stations () having pairs of rollers () directed towards each other and both holding the sheet metal strip therebetween and forming the sheet metal strip over roller edges. In every second forming station (), two angles () are gradually formed and in every second forming station two other angles () are gradually formed.

Method for roll-forming

A roll-forming machine has a stand () and a row of forming stations (), which comprise frames () for carriers () of pair of rollers laterally displaceably mounted on the stand. An intermediate piece () is pivotally mounted on each frame for being pivoted about a vertical axis, and two carriers of a pair of rollers are separately laterally displaceably mounted on each intermediate piece. Each carrier of a pair of rollers comprises two axle pins for carrying a forming roller each and the two carriers of a pair of rollers have their axle pins directed towards each other.

Roll-forming machine and method for roll-forming

Metal sheets, and in particular, metal sheets for roofing of the kind having upstanding flat edges ending with beads, are bent by rolling the flat edges such that they become gradually thinner towards the beads. The sheets will also be bent if the beads are not rolled. Metal sheets having upstanding sides, and ends bent towards or away from the upstanding sides, are also bent by rolling the upstanding sides gradually thinner towards or away from the bent ends for forming beams for automotive components as well as other products.

Method of bending metal sheets and a bending apparatus

Profiles () are formed in a production line with a cross-section that varies along their length from a plane metal strip () that is unwound from a tape reel (). Edge cutters () and roll-forming units (-) are displaceable individually sideways relative to the strip, and are individually controlled. The formed profile is curved in a curving station integrated into the production line and having roller pairs () that can be controlled to roll sides of the profile () such that they become thinner so that the profile is curved or twisted as it is formed. The roller pairs and the sideways displacement and the angular motion of the roll-forming units are controlled so that the roller pairs follow the sides and such that a line (II) between the axles of one roller pair is held perpendicular to the surface being rolled.

Production line and a method of shaping profiles

Profiles () are formed in a production line with a cross-section that varies along their length from a plane metal strip () that is unwound from a coil (), whereby edge cutters () and a number of roll-forming units (-) are used where not only the edge cutters but also the roll-forming units can be displaced individually sideways relative to the strip. The edge cutters () and the roll-forming units (-) are individually controlled such that they follow the lines of extent of the side edges () that are cut and the lines of the corners (-) that are subsequently formed, and the forming of one corner with a number of roll-forming units is started only after the forming of a corner that lies more closely to the edge of the strip has been completed. The formed profile is bent in a bending station integrated into the line, which bending station comprises rollers (-) that can be controlled to roll sections of the profile () to become thinner such that the profile is bent or twisted as it is formed.

Production line and a method of forming profiles

A beam with a hat-shaped profile with a cross-section that varies along its length is successively formed from a plane sheet metal strip using a roll-forming machine with a number of forming stations. The forming stations () have a pair of clamping rollers (and) for each side flange () and support rollers () for the central flange. The pairs of clamping rollers in the forming stations can be displaced both horizontally and vertically during a forming operation, and the support rollers () can be displaced vertically and they can be displaced individually in a sideways direction. All four corners (-) of the hat-shaped beam are formed at the same time, whereby the corners are folded on the peripheral edges of the clamping rollers and support rollers. Not only the axes of the pairs of clamping rollers but also of the support rollers can be turned in order to adapt to the corners that are being formed.

Roll-forming machine and method for roll-forming a hat-shaped profile

A production line for the manufacture of a product through hydroforming, having a decoiler () for unrolling a steel strip () from a coil (), a roll-forming unit () for folding the steel strip into a tube (), a welding unit () for welding together the edges of the steel strip, a hydroforming unit () having an openable mold () to receive the completed tube as the tube is being formed and welded, a cutting arrangement () for cutting off the completed product () that has been removed from the hydroforming unit, sealing arrangements (-) at two ends of the mold for sealing the tube, and a line () for the supply of pressure medium through one of the sealing arrangements for placing the tube under pressure. A method for manufacturing a product in such a line is also provided.

Method and a production line for manufacturing a product by hydroforming

Metal sheets, and in particular, metal sheets for roofing of the kind having upstanding flat edges ending with beads, are bent by rolling the flat edges such that they become gradually thinner towards the beads. The sheets will also be bent if the beads are not rolled.

Apparatus for thinning upstanding sides of metal sheets

A machine is process monitored and controlled for continuous bending of long products to a predetermined radius by using three parallel contact-free distance meters (laser transmitters) and by measuring the distances to the bent surface on the product, by calculating the actual bending radius based on the fixed distances between the meters and the measured distances, and controlling the adjustment of the machine in response to the relation between the calculated actual radius and the desired radius. The machine comprises a processor for performing said calculation and controlling the bending device.

Machine for bending of long products and a method to control such a machine

A roll-forming machine includes in line a device () for unwinding metal strip () from a strip reel (), a strip cutter (), and a roll-forming section (). The roll-forming section includes a row of forming stations that include forming rolls that are carried by shafts which are supported on a respective one side of the sheet section. Each row of forming stations includes an edge cutter () and a first forming station mounted on a common movable carrier (), for collective movement. The angle of the carrier relative to the longitudinal axis of the forming section can be adjusted and the carrier can be moved in a parallel manner transversely to said longitudinal axis so as to enable said movement and said angular adjustment of these forming stations to be achieved simultaneously.

A rolling mill machine is for longitudinal bending of plate to provide a cross-sectional profile. The machine includes elements for advancing the plate in a longitudinal direction through a plurality of longitudinally spaced shaping stations. Each of the shaping stations extends in a generally transverse direction relative to the longitudinal direction and includes an upper row of forming rolls and a lower row of forming rolls which are disposed in spaced relationship along the transverse direction for respectively bending the plate advancing therebetween to form the profile. Some of the shaping stations include centrally located forming rolls being longitudinally displaced forwardly of the other of forming rolls in the upper and lower rows for initially bending the plate by these centrally located forming rolls. Additonally, the forming rolls respectively combine with corresponding other forming rolls to form generally converging longitudinal rows of the forming rolls. The machine may include each of the forming rolls being mounted for rotation about a shaft which extends perpendicular to the longitudinal rows of each of the forming rolls.
